Weekend break

We had the most wonderful last minute stay. timo was very helpful, available and accomodating. The venue was perfect - spotless and welcoming. Very spacious and beautiful inside and outside, with lovely thoughtful touches. None of us wanted to leave! Thank you Timo

House was lovely and clean - all towels essentials included. Was able to check in earlier than planned so added bonus, Timo on hand if any problems. Feel like the house could be modernised in some areas, modern bathrooms but some bedrooms dated and uncomfortable beds.

A great time

Lovely thatch cottage ideally situated for all the attractions that Dorset has to offer. Spacious accommodation and fantastic pool and hot tub. Definitely recommend.

Highly Recommend this gorgeous property!

We recently stayed at this incredible property in Bournemouth as a family group of 14, and it exceeded all our expectations. The house is extremely spacious with fantastic communal areas that made it perfect for entertaining and spending quality time together.One of the standout features was the amazing pool area—luckily, we had sunny weather all weekend and were able to make full use of it. The pool table, darts board, and the outdoor bar (complete with a TV and sound system) added to the fun and made sure there was something for everyone to enjoy.The grounds were beautifully maintained and could be fully enclosed, which was ideal for our dogs to roam safely.Timo, the property owner, gave us a warm welcome with a helpful tour upon arrival. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay.We had the most enjoyable weekend in such a beautiful setting and are already looking forward to returning as a family. Highly recommended!

Fabulous!

We booked Thatch Cottage for a family celebration to cater for a party of 16 and were not disappointed. Despite the weather, we had an amazing long weekend, with all ages making full use of the indoor and outdoor space and facilities (especially the games/pool room, bar and swimming pool/jacuzzi). Timo was so helpful throughout and on hand to meet us on arrival. Would have no hesitation recommending this wonderful house.

Fabulous all round

What a fabulous time we all had staying here. Everyone in our family group which included children, teens and adults had the best time. The property is thoughtfully set up for large groups and had everything we needed to make our stay a magical one we will remember. Communication both before and during our stay was prompt and helpful. Highly recommend for a relaxing and memorable holiday in a beautiful property.

Perfect Weekend

Celebrating my 40th with Friends and Family. Very lucky with the weather, pool was a lovely temperature, hot tube was very relaxing, kitchen was very well organised, clean and spacious for 20 people. 100% recommended

We travelled to Thatch Cottage for a three night stay for my 50th birthday extravaganza. The communication with our hosts as excellent and the check-in process was simple. The property is amazing and the facilities were perfect for our needs. The local area is lovely with plenty of things to do for all ages and interests and the property is the perfect base if you just want to relax. Thank you to Susanna, Steven & Timo for making my birthday everything I wanted, and very much needed, after an extremely busy year. I hope you can come back some time and visit again.

Lovely property. A few maintenance problems could have been addressed before arrival.e.g rickety hand rail to pool. Also felt a few niceties would have been welcome. E.g a welcome pack,shampoo and coditioner in the bathrooms,considering the overall cost of the property. DDog owners beware of Ticks

Family Christmas

We housed our entire family (ages 4 to 87) for a wonderful Christmas week. Even though we couldn’t enjoy the pool (winter) everything worked a treat. Timo was always on hand to answer a question or provide assistance (with a smile). I would love to see how it works in the summer. Thank you for accommodating us.

Fantastic cottage!

We had a fantastic 3 days at the Thatched Cottage! There was plenty of space for 18 people and 7 dogs. The bedrooms were clean and spacious. The kitchen (the main one) was massive and very well equipped. There was plenty of space to get away from the crowd if needed. Communication with the owners (both Elina and Susannah) was very easy. All in all a great break. Genuinely upset to leave and will definitely come back (probably in summer). Richard.

Excellent family venue

The four generations in the family had an enjoyable time around an amazing pool and courtyard . The dining area with its kitchen worked pretty well with the mezzanine tv room for children and young adults , so everyone was close by . The lounge had plenty of comfortable seating for the evenings which were otherwise spent in the “pub” and its area . The goal net has become a badminton net . . table tennis , pool and table football were all given much use . . The area has much to offer whatever the weather - children’s play park , garden centre , heavy horse centre and more.

Excellent stay

We booked the property to celebrate my Mother in law's 80th birthday and it couldnt have been any better. The sizeable property had everything we needed along with plenty of space for our party of 21 to spread out. The hot tub was a real hit with everyone and the games room fired up the competitve spirit in some. We had fabulous weather for the weekend we were there at the beginning of March, but not warm enough to use the pool! We were able to get out and about in the local area and recommend the Moors Valley Country Park, especially if you have children as there is lots to do to wear them out. Catering wise, we had a very goodmeal at the Three Legged Cross pub, which is 1 mile from the property, so easily walkable. the 2nd night we cooked in the house which was easy thanks to the great stock of pots and pans and the multiple ovens. On the final night we had a takeaway delivered in, from one of the nearest towns. A final mention goes to Timo who was an excellent host, there to let us in and show us around. In contact throughout to check that all was satisfactory and whether we needed anything. All in all, I can't recommend this place enough if you're looking for a large property for a group holiday or special celebration. I hope to return one day and use the pool!

What a place!

This property is truly incredible. We were a mixed-age hen party of 21, and everyone was completely blown away by the charm and practicality of the house. It’s huge, it’s quirky, every little detail has been thought of - we cam laden with spare essentials (dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll etc) but we needn’t have bothered. Everything we could possibly need was there. Timo was exceptionally helpful and responsive to any issues, and walking in to roaring fires on a cold February day was such a lovely touch. Could not have asked for a better house for a large group, just sad we didn’t come in summer! We hope to find reason to come back soon, and I’m sure there will be bookings from the other hens as well! Thank you so much

No reception or wifi here .....

Lovely place but dreadful if you need to communicate while on vacation. We found some very dirty kitchen items and many broken this & that's. Kitchen lamp not working, bedside light buzzing all night, showers need descaling as do not work properly. Etc ..... could do with a proper check over and upgrade. Also, please don't say you have wifi in here on your advert .... it is intermittent at best so be honest and your customers may not feel cheated into choice as we do .....

Amazing cottage. Amazing hosts.

I stayed at the Thatch Cottage with 15 members of my family in August 17. We loved it! It was thoroughly enjoyed by both kids and adults. The pool is perfect. The warm temperature in the pool is maintained whatever the weather and we spent lots of quality time in it! The pool can be fully covered at the turn of a key which gives real peace of mind with the children. The jacuzzi was a great place to relax in the evening. There is a well-equipped games room, large dining area and a really big garden with football and netball pitches, a lovely pond and a fully equipped mini pub! Best of all are the hosts. Steve and his son Timo were there to greet us with a cold drink when we arrived and Timo returned daily to check on the pool and tend to any other requests, however trivial. I have stayed at many holiday homes around the world and I am hard pressed to think of a more dedicated host. Thanks Timo and Steve! We'll definitely be back! From Mark and extended family...

Some improvements needed

Whilst we had a wonderful weekend with the family and the pool area was very much a highlight. We were very much disappointed by the lack of detail and finesse for the price of the property. We had booked the property to treat and host our family and at times this proved rather difficult and left us feeling incredibly let down. Despite the property accommodating several guests, there were a total of 2 teaspoons and not enough crockery/cutlery to cater the 13 guests we had staying. Whilst the kitchen area was well equipped, it is a rather small space which proved challenging when trying to cater for a large number of guests. This was exacerbated but the distance between the main kitchen and second kitchen area. The ice maker was not working and no dishwashers tablets or coffee pods provided. Similarly, whilst all guests reported their beds to be comfortable, some the of the basics such as adequate sized towels/bath sheets, quality toilet paper and toiletries such as shower gel were not provided. The lighting in the lounge/hall area was pretty poor which at times proved hazardous with the small steps in the hallway. Whilst the host had placed hazard tape on the step, this was incredibly worn and there were a few tumbles over the weekend. We were fortunate to be blessed with nice weather, however when dining outside some of our guests clothes were stained due to the rust on some of the garden furniture. Overall this property did not meet the description or our expectations.

Family Holiday

Our second visit in 6 years. The property is ideal for a large family. Check in was easy and on time. Kitchen was functional ( could do with sharper knives for chopping). The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Loved the pub in the garden and outside space. The only criticism would be that the pool was quite cold especially for the smaller children (lips were turning blue!). Maybe a refurb of a fresh lick of paint to the interior. Overall we had a super holiday and would highly recommend.

Husbands 60th Birthday

We had a weekend at this property to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. There were 10 adults and 4 dogs.We had a fabulous time. The property is beautiful, plenty of space for us all, a wonderful enclosed garden for the dogs, the weather was great so we were able to use the pool and hot tub. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need. The hosts were great at communicating with us, and Timo was extremely helpful and easy going.We didn't want to leave and would certainly hope to return again. Highly recommended.

Family Christmas Getaway

Beautiful thatched cottage, large enough to accommodate 4 generations over the Christmas period. Great communication with the property manager, always very responsive and willing to call round and answer any questions. Easy access to the hot tub was especially appreciated. Location of the property is excellent to access activities without a long drive. We stayed 11 days and didn't run out of things to do and places to visit. Generally furnished to a high standard, but perhpas a couple of the beds could benefit from replacement mattresses. We visited in Winter and could see how special this property would be in the summertime. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay.
