We absolutely loved staying in Paul's barn. We were looking for a comfortable experience that would connect us with the outdoors. We wanted to escape air conditioning and automobiles, and we wanted to be able to swim to our heart's content--but we didn't want to rough it. Wendy's property hit all the marks--it is like glamping--you're open to the elements--but with the tree canopy completely covering the barn and the swimming hole, the heat isn't too bad (and we were there on days when the high was near 100). At night, you can close the doors and leave the screened-in windows open for a nice breeze & protection from mosquitos. The beds are super comfortable, and Wendy has really thought of every amenity--fire pit, bbq, efficiency kitchen, beautiful outdoor shower, a dozen fans, every game you can think of (even a zip line). We spent hours swimming in the creek, and dashed up to Wimberley for drinks in the evening. The town is 3 minutes up the road, there's a giant supermarket open till 11. Wendy was wonderful to deal with, very welcoming, as were her husband and son. We can't wait to go back!
