"The hotel was run by a family who also lived on the premises. The lender who calls himself D was very pleasant at check in. He explained everything up front. The room itself was cozy and pleasant. Hotel was perfect for me as I was visiting my child at Clarkson which was 1/2 mile away. Close to downtown Potsdam where there were shops and restaurants to explore. Will stay again!"

"Each year in mid-September we travel from our home in NYC to a lake house location "up north". We look for a secluded location on a smaller lake that is peaceful and quiet - with a "swimmable" dock and waterfront, comfortable accommodations, a grill to grill on, a fire pit to sit by in the evening, and kayaks to spend some relaxing time on the water. This year we found everything we desired and more at Oak Hill. It's important to note that Oak Hill is just like the description on the website. Some listings aren't. The steps down to the house and then on down to the dock/beach are safe and the hand rails are very sturdy, which is not always the case with lake homes. It was perfect for our needs. The house and grounds were immaculate. The beds were extremely comfortable. We made full use of the kayaks, paddle board, and especially enjoyed exploring the lake on the pontoon boat, upon which we enjoyed sunsets with the neighboring loons. When "civilization" was required for supplies, Oak Hill was less than a half-hour's scenic drive from anything we needed. We highly recommend Oak Hill."

"A very special place. The Lodge is the perfect cabin. Great room, porch, decor all fit the atmosphere perfectly. The location is very private and super relaxing. The lake is very pristine and soothing to view. The Lodge offers a sene of serenity. A spot where you can leave reality at the door and enter a perfect get away. Those with dogs know you can open the door and let them roam. There is no where else for them to go or anyone else around."

"The hosts were terrific, very personable and attentive! The property was just as in the pictures. The beds were very comfortable, (according to my daughter...best bed in any rental she's ever stayed in). The house was clean, everything in working order and well thought-out for any age group. We had a wonderful week at Sunset Cottage."

"Authentic 1947 cabin with a touch of remodeling. Excellent beds, bring your own sheets and pillowcases. Everything else you might need, from plastic wrap to firewood, is provided. Dock area, with wood fired hot tub and barbeque, is indeed spectacular. Big fridge, high end Weber grills, good WiFi and cell service. Little space for groceries, because, 1947 cabin. Pine sap drops everywhere because, pine forest. Bring some cardboard for your windshield. Like most mountain lake cabins the water supply is pumped from the lake. Immunocompromised individuals are cautioned to use good judgement. A bottled water dispenser with plenty of 5 gallon refills was provided. All in all, a thoughtfully appointed property that was worth the price. Wish I could spend a summer there."
