"Being in a castle is unique by itself. First impressions were not as expected, fake flowers everywhere, a bar with a kitschy look, a spa with no pool, an outdoor area like a beer garden, it felt a bit like in an amusement park. Bathroom with a bathtub, difficult to step into and very slippery, lots of stairs to climb. In short difficult for handicapped., the advertised nearby fruit farms, vineyards and famous church sculpture is far away, you can’t get there but by car or bike. But the suite was gorgeous, decorated with fake antiques and spacious. Toiletries were excellent as were towels and linens. The best though is the food. We had an excellent dinner in Aurum and also in the bistro. The breakfast buffet was incredible, Prosecco was not included as it is normally in other Hotels. Prices were high for food and lodging. Breakfast 40 Euros per person. But it was a nice experience. Christian, the gentleman who helps with suitcases is extremely helpful and nice"

"We were actually moved to the sister hoter Chateau de la fooz as the other hotel was closed. This was no issue for us. This was fine but there was no one to greet us at check in despite ringing the bell. We found a card with a list of booking with our name and checked ourselves in. The restaurant is closed on mondays and tuesdays but we got a recomendation of a restaurant about 10 minutes away which was great and we appreciated this. The room was very recently renovated and very lovely - a couple of things to mention. 1. no towel rail by sink for hand towel 2. no garbage can in room (only in bathroom) 3. no mirror in room The place is just gorgeous and the owner was very nice and gave us a complimentary glass of bubbles and a little about the history of this former convent. The complimentary breakfast was very good with a great selection HIghly recommend!!"

"We had a wonderful time. Robert was an excellent host and very fast to respond to requests since he lives right across the street. The property is excellent for large families and groups traveling together. Lots of beds and every room has its own bathroom. We had both babies and elderly parents so the separate main bedroom was perfect for those with disabilities. Our grandson enjoyed playing on the slide and the garden is beautiful. We had bonfires in the backyard every night and the cool Belgium air felt great at night with the windows open. It is beautiful farm country 30 mins from Brussels airport with horses and cows and rolling fields of corn, hay and pear trees. There is a SPAR food store, pharmacy and restaurants close by for every day needs and a bakery and ice cream shop only 1km away. The larger town Tienen is only 10 mins away for bigger shopping trips. We used this location for day trips to Leuven, Ghent and Bruges. Robert is very responsive if you call him on WhatsApp. Make sure to call him - do not text him as he is very active at 81 years old and he is often busy with lots of projects nearby. Note that there is only a washing machine for clothes but no dryer - bring a cord to hang up outside for drying. Also ask for extra trash and recycle bags if staying more than a couple of days. There is no air conditioning but that is common for most of Europe. We were fortunate to miss the worst of the heat wave and even had a couple of days of light rain."

"The staff in the hotel were very helpful and the restaurant and bar were very good. Rooms were clean and comfy and is in a really good place. Really enjoyed my stay and will use again"

"All the staff were welcoming and friendly. Rooms clean and quiet. Only 10 mins from railway station and a short walk to the city centre. The free breakfast was adequate and bar prices reasonable. "
