There is so much to do in this area. This house was the perfect quiet after a busy day. The lake is quiet, the fish are biting, the house is cozy with a wonderful cross breeze and the beds are comfortable. Hope to return next summer.
This is my second fall trip to the Turtle Cove property in Hiawatha National Forest. The house and property were excellent, clean, and ready when we get in the first evening. The location made for great adventures and the morning views of the fall colors were excellent as I sipped my coffee. I will look to stay at this property again on my next visit to the area.
Quaint, nice cabin. Off the beaten path, yet close to general store and daytrip excursions. Enjoyed the kayaks and rowboat. Fishing brought in our largest bass to date. Appreciated the fire pit. Really enjoyed the stay.
Good location near Munising and several attractions. The property was clean and had plenty of bedding and towels. We used both the grill and fireplace, which was great! The only downsides were that the beds were very squeaky, so not good for light sleepers, and the beach isn’t really one you would swim in due to the algae and muck - still enjoyed sitting lakeside tho! We also had our dog, and it was great to find a place that was pet friendly.
Super cute and comfy cabin, my family really enjoyed staying here. They have a boat or kayaks for you to use, along with fishing poles and life vests. I have stayed in variety of cabins in northern Minnesota on Lake superior and None of them had half the amenities nor all the room this one had to offer at a much smaller price. We were all sad that it was only a small stop on a much longer journey. We definatly plan to stay again!
Dear friends,Jim and I really enjoyed our stay at Turtle Cove. We rested, cooked fancy meals, read books and enjoyed the lake.I promised to let you know if there were items that needed attention. We noted the following:1. Lower corner cupboard of the SW corner of the kitchen needs a new hinge.2.The vacuum filter needs replacing or a good cleaning.3. Window mechanism in the SW corner of the living room needs repair. Some windows do not have handles. It would be nice to have at the cabin:1. Plastic placemats to protect the tablecloth.2. New can opener3. Dust mop4. Dresser in the master bedroom5. Potato peelerThank you again for the wonderful vacation.

Good location, house needs some investment
Property was clean, had a nice layout and good location. The furniture needs an upgrade, the couch and recliner, mattresses and outdoor chairs all need replacement. If you’re using this as a place to sleep and eat, probably fine but if you plan to spend any time here be prepared for no comfortable place to sit and hang out. We booked because we thought the price was lower but with the fees it wasn’t close to the $280 per night. It has great potential but some money needs to be invested in the place
The listing should be more honest about the location of the grocery store. While technically there is a convenience store nearby, you can hardly classify it as groceries. Even the person working at Forest Glenn considered being listed as a grocery store quite a stretch. Stayers would appreciate knowing that you need to get groceries in Munising before going to the property. That information would have saved a lot of miles and aggravation.
Other than that the place was great. Appreciated good quality paper products and that the tv got more television stations than subscription streaming services.
The listing of the house on the lake was accurate. It's a lovely, quiet place and the house is roomy. It was clean and comfortable. The outdoor area had lots of chairs, firepit and picnic table.
We enjoyed the cabin, the boat, the kayaks, hiking, pictures rocks cruise, waterfalls and great food. We will be back again great area for an outdoor adventure vacation. We went Rock hounding on show of Lake Superior and enjoyed our time very much
This house is comfortable and the lake view is great. The manager was attentive and maintained contact with us. Furniture is in good condition. Water pressure is good and we had plenty of hot water. The house is on a dirt road. The address is not in Google Maps.
We had a fantastic stay. House was very clean. Had everything you need I think only one car went by in 4 days when we were there. No one next door so it was so peaceful. We used the Kayaks. The lake is little but so quiet. No speed boats. We will be back some day!!!! Thank You!!!!
Beautiful view of the lake and surrounding. Quiet peaceful nights out back were great. Property very clean and a great neighbor that worked with us while letting our dogs out to play in the lake.
My family of 5 stayed in this home for the week of the Fourth. We felt like we were in our own up north cabin. It was easy to find with the directions they provide, and the cabin was stocked with everything you could need.
