  • Welcome to The Green Door Cottage, a spacious and comfortable retreat nestled in the heart of the Hiawatha National Forest. Whether you’re planning a family vacation, snowmobile trip, ATV adventure, or peaceful getaway, this home offers the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and outdoor recreation.

    Gather with family and friends in the enclosed patio, a great space to relax, share meals, and make lasting memories. After a day of exploring the Upper Peninsula, unwind in the home’s electric sauna or curl up in the cozy living area with Roku TV.

    The main floor features a fully equipped kitchen with pantry, a comfortable living room, full bathroom, and washer and dryer for your convenience. Upstairs, you’ll find a private master suite complete with a queen bed, elegant clawfoot bathtub, and separate private toilet room.

    The lower level offers plenty of sleeping space for larger groups. Bedroom one includes one queen bed and two twin beds, while bedroom two features four twin beds. A pull-out sofa and sauna room provide additional comfort and flexibility for guests.

    Outdoor enthusiasts will love the direct access to Trail 7 from the property, making it easy to enjoy snowmobiling, ATV riding, and year-round adventures. Ample parking is available for trailers and recreational vehicles. When it’s time to dine out, The Buckhorn Restaurant is just a short 6-minute drive away, while the attractions, restaurants, and shoreline of Munising are only 20 minutes from the cottage.

Great location and set up

Great home layout and location. Our family had a beautiful week exploring pictured rocks. This was a perfect home base. Plenty of trailer space for our pontoon and a pretty quick drive from Munising. We are already talking about coming back.

celebrating friendship

our group of friends (11 of us) have gathered in the UP for 25 years. we traveled to Munising specifically to see the Pictured Rocks, to do the boat cruise, and to hike in the park. And the boat cruise was exceptional. This house accommodated us well. Loved the large kitchen and dining table. Next time to this area, we need to spend more than 2 days.

Beautiful house in the woods

We only got to stay Friday night and Saturday night and checked out on Sunday, I wish we could’ve stayed for a week at least. The place was beautiful, the place was huge plenty of room and bathrooms for nine girls to stay and get ready and it was absolutely the best day we have had in a VRBO. We loved the screened in porch, sat out there and had our morning coffee had a fire outside in the fire pit. It was wonderful.

Everything was amazing. The house and property were fantastic as well. We all loved the sauna!! My only suggestion is to get a bigger and better grill. I was disappointed in the grill that was onsite. Made it very hard to cook a meal for everyone at the same time. Thank you

The TV was not working, the owner had it replaced. Both microwaves were shorting out so we were unable to use them. After notifying the owner all they did was remove it from the property. The dish towels in the kitchen need to be replaced. The current ones had holes in them.
