"We drove to this hotel from Pennsylvania to attend a graduation ceremony for our granddaughter. After riding for 7 hours, we arrived at the hotel. The lady at the desk told me she had no reservation, it had been cancelled by the boss. She said perhaps my card was declined and I told her that was not possible because I had already received a message stating that my room was booked . She said I booked through Hotels.com, which I did and I had itinerary numbers and check in information. I asked if they had any rooms available and she said no and she told me to take a business card and call the boss Monday. Luckily we found another hotel not too far away and they had a room available. When we got to the second hotel I saw a gentleman that had been at the first hotel and overheard him telling a gentleman the same thing happened to him as he was told his room had been cancelled. I feel this was a situation that should not have happened. I will never book this hotel again . Through the booking process, I had checked and rechecked that all was complete and we received a note looking forward to our stay. She said I booked with hotels.com and perhaps the situation was their fault. I had received a message from hotels.com that all was ready for our stay. So to answer your question as to how was our stay - there was no stay. "

"Staff wasn't helpful and I was forced to check out because I had no towels none. they would take my dirty towels and left me with no clean ones. I couldn't shower after a long day at work and 3 different occasions I asked and was never accommodated. I had to check out at 9pm because I couldn't get any towels therefore I couldn't shower"

"Plumbing - Toilet did not function correctly and I had to plunge on initial entry into room. Low water pressure."

"The location of the hotel was great for us. It has a SPECTACULAR view of the Connecticut State Capital and the surrounding green space. Be sure to ask for the view room, as this was what made the stay worthwhile. It was a 10 minute walk to Dunkin Park, a minor league baseball stadium. Attending an event there was the reason for our stay. The adjacent neighborhood is not great. The hotel, while clean, is old and not in top condition. The room itself had been updated, but the bathroom showed a lot of wear."

"A beautiful hotel to stay in located in the heart of West Hartford. The helpful staff and easy valet parking make any visit even more enjoyable. The breakfast is always delicious and we look forward to that part of our trip! The rooms are clean, tidy and very comfortable. The well appointed gym is a nice plus. Cannot wait for our next trip!!!!"

"Overall very lovely stay! Convenient parking and location. Host was very responsive when we had to re-set the router to access the Wi-Fi. Everything was perfectly fine, although some of the furniture is different than the photos (the den does not have those 2 overstuffed white chairs). As others have noted there is also something a little funky with some bedside lamps missing light bulbs/ability to turn on and some nightstands with power outlets, not actually having any power. That said - plenty of outlets, plenty of working lamps, this was really not an issue for us at all.As a note for any traveling families - we were traveling with a younger kiddo (4yo) and grabbed a plastic dining set (e.g., plate and cup) from the nearby Stop and Shop (5 min away) the kitchen only had glassware for 4 adults. "

"Farmington Inn is quaint and has a mature person feel. The room was older and smelled like a nursing home yet it was clean and served the purpose. There was a small laundry room fire while we were there. Luckily, I was in my room and evacuated me and my dog safely. I questioned if they would have gone in to get my dog if I were not there. That question remains unanswered. I’d stay again. It was close to the interstate and food options and some of the most beautiful walks. "

"This house was exactly what we needed. It was very clean. The host was excellent with communication. Easy check-in and check-out. I would definitely stay here again!"
