"The staff were ever so helpful. A lot of the staff spoke multiple languages, which helped a lot. (I am only English speaking) Catered for gluten free and offered oat and soya milk. Fully stocked fridge with beer, water and soft drinks. 5 mins walk from the highstreet. 20 min walk to vitra museum. Only rated 4/5 for condition because there was ongoing maintenance which I wasn’t aware of. However this didn’t disrupt our stay. The room was perfect and breakfast was great. "

"Everyone at the hotel were so helpful and kind. Especially Jasmine at the hotel reception was so wonderfully cheerful and lovely, she let us choose our own music to play when we were the only customers in the lobby bar. The hotel breakfast was really delicious and had a lot of options, and it only cost 15e! If you asked, you could also get gluten-free bread. The train station is very close by, so it was easy to get to Basel where we were at the Eurovision Song Contest. My sister and I recommend...

"Good sized room but not keen on glass bathroom doors that do not close correctly. Was surprised to be charged for bottles of water left in room - had mistakenly assumed these were complimentary 4Euros is no big deal but it would have been good to make the charge clear."

The hotel is very conveniently positioned and about 10 or 15 minutes to the tram stop into Basel. The breakfast was absolutely first class - plenty of options and the rooms were great."

"If you are visiting Basel the Marthof is the perfect choice. Charm, location, clean, spacious rooms. Close to everything and most tours start from here in the area for convenience or a short 10 min walk. Restaurants galore from all varieties and cultures. The staff is excellent.
