Thank you for your review. We used to have a TV guide in each room but during covid that along with the area guide etc was removed. We have considered replacing the TV guide but our local cable company does not provide one apart from the one on channel 3 on the TV. As for the breakfast items we will look into this as we normally have great comments on the coffee etc.

The first was having coffee makers in the rooms but unfortunately our electrical system could not cope with the demand and it kept blowing circuit breakers. The only way to remedy that would be a complete building rewire which is cost prohibitive. The second option we tried was having a coffee maker available in a guest lounge. This did not work out well either as we host many young families with young children who were found messing with the coffee maker so to prevent a child getting injured we decided to remove the coffee maker.

Dear AnthonyWe are sorry that you were in one of the few rooms that does not have electrical outlets next to the beds. Unfortunately without a major rebuild we cannot get outlets by the beds. We are not sure what you mean by bare minimum. The rooms have ensuite bathrooms, large screen TV's a desk and storage. We do not advertise anything else so if you wanted something more you could have looked elsewhere. We are glad that you at least enjoyed the breakfast we provided.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. It would have been nice if you had actually mentioned your issues during your stay so that we may have been able to try and do something about the problem. I have been in the room this morning after you left but cannot say that I have experienced any melodious odour. As for the bed I have laid on both beds in that room and although slightly soft for my liking but I cannot find any lumps of bumps that would result in me calling it horrible. Could you be a little more specific?

Thank you for leaving us a review even if it was Poor. It would be much more helpful if when you leave a poor review you let us know what you found poor so that we may endeavor to correct the issue. As you stayed with us for 2 days you did have ample opportunity to raise any issues that you had with the staff and if you had we may have been able to rectify the problem there and then. You said nothing during your visit so we could only assume that you were satisfied. We would also like to point out that when you made your reservation you booked the room for 2 adults only and you 'forgot' to mention your two children one of which wet the bed which you also conveniently 'forgot' to mention before you left!

Dear RoxanneThank you for your review. All reviews are helpful in determining where we are getting things right and where we need to improve. We looked in to why your room was hot and found that the valve was stuck slightly open. This has now been replaced and the room is maintaining the correct temperature. we keep the outside doors locked during winter to stop the carpets becoming wet and the subsequent problems with mold. Most of our rooms are set up for families but we do have a few just for couples but they do sell out quick during busy periods I am afraid. We are glad that you did overall enjoy your stay and look forward to seeing you again.

The room you stayed in is one of the rooms that is indeed on the list to be refurbished as soon as funds become available. This refurbishment will include the bathroom. As for the price we believe that we are competitive with other properties in the area. Lastly we believe that we offer a good breakfast that is cooked to order and is complimentary. A number of other local properties either do not offer breakfast or a purely continental breakfast.

The room you stayed in is one that was last updated when we first took over the lodge and is due to be redone again next year. Next time you come and stay we will try to put you in a room that has been recently updated.

Dear Matthew, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry that you feel aggrieved that the price you paid on arrival was different from that which you were originally quoted. However, upon investigation into this matter you made the original reservation via Expedia and on that reservation, you entered that there would be just 2 guests staying. When you arrived to check in there were 3 adults that were staying and not the 2 that you had originally booked. We understand that plans can change, and friends or relatives may choose to join you, but it clearly states on both Expedia and our own website that any more than 2 guests in a room will be charged an additional fee. So, we are a little perplexed that you would complain about something that was explained to you when you checked in. About the lack of A/C. Yes, that room does not have it but in the property description of the rooms we do not say it does. 16 of our 24 rooms do have A/C but the rooms on the lower level of which yours was one do not have A/C. This is since with the average summer nighttime temps here being in the mid 60’s we do not feel the need for it. Unfortunately, there were no air-conditioned rooms available on the night that you reserved not that you requested one while you were here. As for the beds in that room they are less than 3 years old, and you are the first to complain about them. We will check them out to make sure that they have not been damaged prior to your stay. It may just be that the type/firmness of the mattress may be something that you are not used to. We tend to purchase medium firmness ones to try and please as many guests as possible but not everyone likes them.

As for the linens and towels they are provided by the local linen company so we will talk to them and see if we can get better linens etc. As for the beds these are some of the older beds we have as that room is due for renovation and replacing the beds is on the cards.

Dear Jock Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are unsure of what you mean by the TV being indecipherable. We have checked the TV in your room and it is a standard LG flat screen TV and we checked the operation of the TV via the remote and all channels worked as they should. Our housekeeper did say that some time over the weekend the local cable company did have a distribution issue but as we did not get any other complaints we are unsure if this was the issue. As for the 8am breakfast/coffee problem. This was the last weekend that we are open this season. Normally we would be open a 7:30am and normally coffee is available up to 10 to 15 minutes before we open as it was on the mornings you stayed. We just decided that with the weather conditions forecast for that morning that nobody would be in a rush to get to the slopes. We are sorry if that inconvenienced you.
