Hunting cabin experience
It was absolutely everything we were looking for, and everything it claimed to be, in a weekend away with the boys. Would definitely scoop this up again in the future as an excellent getaway that's not to far removed from the rest of civilization.

Be prepared!
Pulling up to property was not what we expected. We expected it to be more secluded and on the water. To access water and amenities for the water you had to use the property managements yard and dock across the street. Your instructed to access the the house in the rear of property. That was up some stairs and at the top of the landing you had to push pulled up trash bags that had been there a while. We never used that door again because there was too much there. Once in the house, it could have been a lot cleaner. Your paying a cleaning fee for a reason. Amenities that are list, not as they are. Dishwasher has been broken for a while. Nothing there to do the dishes by hand. The game room they offer, not working. The mold and mildew and smell down there would make you sick. Even if it was clean they don’t tell you to bring quarters. The hot tub the first night wasn’t prepared for use. It wasn’t working and once we did you it, the amount of chlorine in it burned your lungs. The spa in the bathroom, well that could use a good power wash. Not clean. Nothing provided in the bathroom except towels. If I haven’t said it yet, you need to bring EVERYTHING to this property. The rest of the house was dirty of dust and cobwebs in every animal you see in the pics. (Above the stove a skunk full of dust) who wants to cook looking at how dirty it is??! The whole situation was uncomfortable. I really think the Vrbo ad needs a revamping for this property.

Obviously you didn’t read the property description. The house is over 100 years old and not built specifically to be a rental as maybe you had in past. This has been my family’s cabin and has been used by hundreds of guests that appreciate going to mountains and experiencing nature. I explained to you when you arrived 3 hours early the issue with cobwebs and showed you the cobweb brush we use on a daily basis. There is no chamber maids or room service so I would recommend staying in a hotel next time you wish to go away. The bathroom spa was scrubbed before your stay personally by me and the description specifically indicates the only things provided are towels. As far as the game room goes nothing required quarters The hot tub is checked and maintained daily. You complained that it wouldn’t heat up so I showed you the touchpad to turn on.

It was great Dana the owner was a great guy and very helpful. We loved this place it was very cozy and all the taxidery was so kool. The jaccuzzi was a big hit. The front porch was amazing to sit on at night with the family. If we go back to that area again we will stay here for sure

Beautiful lake view
This place was amazing. Huge covered deck was our hang out due to rain almost our entire 3 day stay but it was awesome to have that outdoor space. The covered hot tub was awesome as well. The only disappointment was the game room was not what it seemed. It’s located in the basement and was dam and mildew smell due to the rain. The loft area was very tight and very low ceiling leading to the full sized bed up there. Dana was an amazing host! Always very prompt with any questions/concerns.

Amazingly Fun!
Lovely historic cabin with stunning craftsmanship! Tranquil lake view, incredible deck area! The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, available for anything we needed, and went above and beyond to make our stay amazing! The hottub was very well kept and super relaxing. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware. We would love to stay again in the future.

DECK PARTY
We absolutely loved loved loved the front Deck that is where we literally spent the entire weekend. I was a little disappointed that he pictures did not share the front of the property in VRBO or did not share the size of the bedrooms this is a very small property and listing says it would sleep 10 there is no way. Only children and teenagers can sleep up in the loft noway adults should be going up there.

Beautiful Place to Get Away

I needed to find a rental in Wells, NY to be near my friends’ cabin so this fit that requirement. Cabin was okay, but I’m glad we were only there a few days. We had to supply our own toilet paper and paper towels after we ran out. 4 adults, 4 days? Seems pretty cheap. Shower was complicated and we couldn’t find instructions. It was advertised as a spa shower with sauna but no way of actually using it as more than a shower. Drains were clogged. Two bedrooms are downstairs with the other beds up a steep ladder in the loft area. I don’t recall the loft area being mentioned, but if it was, it definitely didn’t include the part about the super steep ladder.

Great family vaca spot
Every summer we vacation with our friends, which consists of 4 adults, 6 kids ages 4-10 and 2 dogs. The house, and location, were great for a week of fun. The kids loved the taxidermy, and there was more than enough sleeping space for everyone. The steps up to the loft are very steep, so needed to keep an eye on the little ones, but was otherwise fine. The dock was great, although a couple of boats parked there limited our usage for the first few days, but the owner rearranged things after realizing and freed up the room we needed for the kids to swim freely and safely. The lake is very deep, about 12 feet, so life jackets were needed but we always bring them anyway so it was not a bother. There were a couple of kayaks we were able to use, plus what we brought ourselves, and each day we would paddle about a half mile up to the Wells public beach. It’s a little sandy beach, just around the bend in an inlet and was absolutely perfect for the kids. There was a diving board, life guards and even a little charcoal grill where we made lunch. When we were done, we’d paddle back and hang out at the dock for a bit longer before dinner. On the day it rained, the covered hot tub was a great benefit. The owner lives across the street and could not be more helpful or nice. He took our garbage each day and we chatted whenever we had the chance.

Very good. Dana was very nice, informative, and available. He acut a sled trail right from our backyard to the main trail for us. That was great! He was also flexible with our dogs coming along and adding an extra night to our stay.

Disappointed Stay
Getting there and entering the house was as stated. Many things were very unsatisfing, in order I will list : Lawn wasn't mowed Hot tub did not work The drawers and cuoboards were not clean (actually found mouse leavings with silverware) Dishwasher did not work (leaked all over the floor) One out last night there, the freezer/fridgerator started to make a very loud grinding noise, we sent a text and call and received no response until the next morning.

I attempted to get the dishwasher repaired but it needed a new pump being the weekend it was unavailable. There is a double sink with dish soap provided. Your group misused the freezer and ice maker causing the filler tube to dislodge fill g the freezer with water which caused fan miter to make noise and burn out. The hot tub works perfectly no issues were mentioned by you during your stay. As for the lawn that’s a new one as it rained for days prior to and during your stay and as we all know grass grows when it rains and landscape companies wait until the rain is over.

I stayed here with my family. What a great time we all had. The cabin was clean and cozy. The A/C worked great. Dana was very quick to respond to any questions and was a pleasure just to talk to. There were deer in the front and turkeys in the back. Just a great place overall to go to. We can’t wait to come back.

Adirondack Adventures
Close to small beach, lakeside, and hikes to nearby waterfalls, rapids, streams. Teens enjoyed the beach, hot tub but were disappointed that pinball machine was not working well. If you appreciate a hunting lodge with A/C and access to the lakes and mountains in the Adirondacks then this would be a good base.

Had a nice hiking getaway. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfy, as were the couches in the living room. The shower was nice. The hot tub would have been amazing especially since we were there in summer. The house could use a thorough clean, there were quite a few cobwebs, the kitchen was "well used" and the cabinets a little unorganized. but was okay and served our purpose. The front deck over looking the lake was beautiful, I imagine it would be awesome in summer.

Glad you enjoyed your stay! Sorry about the cobwebs they seem to appear overnight as a result of the being over 100 years old with a forced hot air furnace. We strive to clean and sanitize the house after every guest leaves. We will check the cupboards for more organization but depending which one you were referring to as it's stated in the property description this is my home and many cabinets and drawers contain personal belongings. The beauty of VRBO is that we can share our home with many so they can experience the mountains. This house wasn't built for renting so it' contains a lot of the true nature of the Adirondacks. Thank you.

Hostile owner, cameras *inside* the house, inaccurate listing
There are multiple cameras inside the property facing outside, and one camera in the living room facing into the main areas of the house, including bedrooms. When I contacted Vrbo about the cameras, they said I had to contact the owner. When I called him to express my concerns with cameras inside the unit, he became irate and yelled at me over the phone, saying the cameras were there "in case someone tries to murder you." Then when I requested a refund since he was in violation of Vrbo's rules he yelled "good luck with that, get out of my house!" We ended up cutting our 4 night stay short after just one night. Also, the hot tub wasn't working, and we were only notified the morning of our first day of the stay. The owner would not give any refund to compensate for the decreased value. The bathroom has only a sliding, barn door style door right off the kitchen, which offers no privacy. The bedrooms were also dusty with garbage and dust behind the beds. I recommend staying literally anywhere else.

It was no secret that there were cameras inside my property but were pointed outside. There was one on a prize buck trophy in the living room pointed directly at it and contrary to Ms. Zoblers claim nothing else was visible from that camera. The camera issue had been disclosed on my properties description so there were no suprise s Out of 50+ guests now there's an issue which she alleviated by unplugging all the cameras after their arrival on Weds around 4pm. She requested a free night for not having a working hot tub so I offered her 2 free nights or a free night on another stay. Nope that wasn't what she wanted to hear. So from 5pm until 9am Thanksgiving day and over 18hrs into the trip she decides to text me requesting a return call. When I called back and introduced myself she began yelling into the phone hysterically "you have cameras you have cameras". I said obviously since you unhooked them. She then called me names I'm not going to repeat. When I was trying to explain why someone would want a security system she again berated me calling names and I did say it's for your protection in case someone wants to murder you. Through this whole discourse she kept yelling even when I was trying to explain the vrbo policy as I've talked to them about this. She then said she's all packed and ready to go so I said good it's time you should go back to Connecticut. She said are you kicking us out I said no you just said you're leaving. This was the craziest experience ever with a guest. When we went there later there were broken blinds, window and beds pulled from the wall. Unreal. Oh and the comment about the barn door bathroom has never been raised by hundreds of guests So if you value your property and sanity DO NOT EVER CONSIDER RENTING TO THESE PEOPLE!!!!

Inaccurate description- no functioning hot tub
We had rented this property because it claimed to have a hot tub. However the hot tub does not function properly and the owner did not remedy the situation. He was not able to fix it. Do not expect the hot tub to work no matter what he claims.

Great place to stay
Dana's lodge is exactly as advertised. Well situated for day-trips in the Adirondacks, beautiful location. Everything in the house works as described, especially the hot tub. Communication with the owner was easy and clear. Unfortunately I had an accident while on this vacation that required medical care. Dana was extremely helpful and accommodating. I cannot recommend this rental highly enough!

Beautiful well appointed home
Very nice and very quiet. My mom would have said we were in the sticks. Beautiful lake with dock. Only downside was no cell coverage at all. Wifi worked great.
