Days Inn by Wyndham Amherst OH – Near Cleveland, Cedar Point & Lake Erie
2/10 Terrible
"If I could give this no stars I would. We booked the room while we were at a concert and was unable to get there until 230 in the morning due to the concert and the traffic. When we got there the front desk clerk stated that she was just about to cancel our non refundable room and give it to someone else since it was the last room she had. We finally got in our room and it was disgusting. No toilet paper, hair in our beds, dirty towel hanging on the back of the door, mold and mildew in the air conditioner, no comforters and no phone to call front desk to complain. The pillows were mini flat pillows. Breakfast was a joke. The juice machine was out of order, had a gallon and a half of milk with rings around the top, the cereal was stale and the jelly for the toast was spoiled and the apples were bruised and bad. That was the extent of their breakfast. For 80 to 100 a night you would think they would do a better job at cleaning and make some sort of an effort for breakfast. I was very disappointed and extremely upset. Also the room next to us played loud music ALL night and kept banging on the walls. No compensation what so ever. The front desk lady said I should have called down. I advised her there was no phone in the room and she said I could have came to the front desk to let her know. Yes but it was 3 in the morning I would have had to walk out of my building and we were extremely exhausted after driving 5hrs for the concert and another he for the room afterwards. Ugh"
"Know when you’re going there that you need to ask for room service. I could not get my room cleaned. My towels were either placed on the desk or on the toilet seat. No coffee replaced, no soap and shampoo replaced. The one morning I went down for breakfast they weren’t open and then when they did openthe coffee was cold, sausage was cold, not impressed. The complementary coffee they have in the lobby. It’s cold. The machine didn’t work, and the area was nasty. The first night I was there my phone didn’t work. I had to use my cell phone to call the hotel and ask for a phone which I didn’t get until the next day when I went down to the front desk and picked it up myself, I asked for extra towels and two blankets that I didn’t get till the next day when I went down to the front desk to get them myself.
I could keep going, but I think you get the drift. I feel sorry for the two managers that are taking a lot of grief because the hotel doesn’t hire competent and enough employees to staff for the needs of the customer.
The day manager did adjust my bill and I was grateful for that, but it can’t erase the horrid experience I had for four days there."
"Room was clean. Front desk person was very friendly on arrival. Place was quite loud at night between doors squeeking shut, neighbors shouting and laundry being done across the hall. Different items were not available or out of order for breakfast."
"The room looked ok at first glance. When we pulled the sheets back we could tell they were not changed for our stay. The pillows were yellowed. They had dirt and hair on the sheets. The bathroom floor had a lot of hair on the floor. The pool is closed. The towels were yellowed and then. When we went to the front desk he asked if we wanted to change the sheets. If we wanted to change the sheets? Really? We got a refund and went to another location."
