"Our stay at Te Dalu was exceptional. We loved that the hotel was located a little outside of Ella proper, which allowed for connection with the beautiful environment and scenery while still being convenient to the amenities of the main town. Our room faced the hillside and had a wonderful view of the temple on the hill, and in the morning with opening the balcony doors allowed us to listen to chants and the sounds of birds and monkeys while waking up. "The property is remote and beautifully removed from all noise and light pollution. The staff are well trained and a pleasure to interact with as they are helpful and kind. I highly recommend this location for the discerning traveler who is not intimidated by remote locations and rough terrain in accessing the property. "

"La Pentera is a new property which has a unique concept of a tree house. The property is quite far from the Udawalawe National Park - about 30 km or so. The directions are also unclear, even if you use googlemaps. The property is new and in great condition. However, there are things that could be better, especially the food. The bathroom has hot water though there is some water leakage. A great experience stay but could be better."

"The views from the balcony are unbelievable and can watch the train go past. Rooms were clean, spacious, modern and all the essentials were provided. The fridge was stocked with coke, water, beers all for free. Dina was the best host, could not do enough for us and made our time very special there, constantly giving us lifts into the town when needed as was 20 minute drive into town. He even waited until 1am one night to take us back home after a night out. Would highly recommend this place. "
