Great place to stay ,staff fabulous, clean comfortable and quite ,we had to get on the road early ,owners and staff accomodated us to have breakfast ,would highly recommend
Lovely historic pub in a super friendly village, room was immaculate, staff were friendly & efficient, fantastic food, would stay again if in the area. Got to see the 91st young farmers event in the car park!
Really great location, room was furnished very nicely and lots of great amenities. My only criticism is the food menu, it’s very limited with very few options.
Enjoyed our stay here. Clean room and bathroom. Stairs a little difficult due to age of the building and we found the shower a little formidable! Enjoyed the food and friendly staff.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The staff were excellent.Steep stairs to the bedroom was an issue for us.
Great base for exploring Cheddar / Glastonbury area. Feee parking, fabulous bar and beer garden. Craft beer bar in the courtyard and a lovely bar in the hotel with a couple of local ales, ciders and choice of lager. Breakfast was really good, food overall was a good quality. Feee WiFi. Room was lovely, very spacious and a modern bathroom. ALL of the staff were wonderful! Friendly, helpful and cheerful. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Unfortunately, on arrival ,it turned out previous guests had gone off with Room Key and without duplicate immediately available, it took some while before we knew whether we were staying in that Room or moving until a replacement key was finally sourced. I fairness to all staff , they could n`t have been more apologetic and we were offered drinks whilst we waited.Room itself , was very good , very clean and spacious. However, only drawback is the Air Condition Unit outside at rear which is very noisy tho` off at 9.00 so night `s sleep not disturbed. disturbed
Good parking at the back of the hotel. Warm welcome, very atmospheric building. We were shown to our room at the back of the hotel (room 5), good size but very dark, small bathroom with only a shower. Had really bad night sleep as bed was so uncomfortable - we both struggle with back problems. Spoke to the owner/manager at breakfast and he was able to move us for our 2nd night otherwise we would have had to check out.
We were moved to room 2 which was fabulous - really lovely thick mattress, bright room at the front of the building with the added bonus of a bath, more than made up for the first night.
We had breakfast here on both mornings - the first morning we both had full English, the 2nd morning we opted for a bacon sandwich and a sausage sandwich (they like you to pre-order the night before). We had dinner here on our 2nd evening and were very impressed - good service, good food and reasonably priced.
All in all we had a good stay and a big thank you for being able to move our room otherwise it would have left a bad impression.
It was outstanding accommodations, comfortable bed great tub and shower. Met the owner and spent some time in the attached pub. Staff was amazing, had breakfast the next morning and that was outstanding as well. Definitely a recommendation to stay here.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and did a great job accommodating our dietary requirements. The room was beautiful and the location was perfect for our trip to Cheddar Gorge. I would definitely recommend.
