About this property
Huge 1930's Historic Home. Walk to downtown/park. Updated. A rare find
Welcome to Waynesville, the heart of the Smokey Mountains! Sitting on a hill with distant view of the mountains, this historic brick home has been lovingly restored to its 1930 splendor, but with modern conveniences. You will love the original hardwood floors, high ceilings, and spacious rooms. The home is walking distance to downtown shops, restaurants, and brewery/pub. The community park, recreation center and pool are less than a 10 minute walk. The space **Our home sleeps up to 8 adults. There is an additional day sofa that lays out into a child’s bed for a max total of 9 guests.
The home sits on a large shaded lot with a fenced yard. Covered parking for 2 cars and uncovered up to 4 more. The rooms are spacious with lots of windows for sunlight. Central air in the main level. A/c window unit upper level. The kitchen is stocked with everything needed to prepare home cooked meals.
The house has a large old fashioned porch to pass the time and enjoy some Mountain view’s. The restored master bath is classic early century black and white hex tile. The old claw foot tub takes center stage for relaxing baths. It has a beautiful walk-in rain shower, too. The guest bathroom on the main floor is also decorated with black and white tile and a roomy rain shower.
***The third bedroom is up stairs. It is semi-private. It includes a small day sofa that lays into a child’s bed. This bed is not suitable for adults. Attached to this third bedroom is a bonus room with two twin beds. The occupants of this twin room will need to walk through the 3rd bedroom to access the bathroom and the stairs to lower level. ***Therefore, the third bedroom is not completely private. A full bathroom/ shower is located on the upper floor. This bathroom and shower is small. We want our guests to enjoy the best comfort while staying in our home. We provide high quality mattresses. All are medium-firm gel foam and are protected by water proof and allergy barrier mattress protectors. We provide white, high thread count, all cotton sheets. Dressed with down alternative duvet.
We provide thick white all-cotton towels, shampoo, and body wash.
Our cleaning policy: we hire a family owned cleaning company. They set the price and it is a living wage. We, as well as the cleaners, have very high standards. Rest assured that the entire house is cleaned between guest stays. ALL linens including duvet covers are washed. All floors are swept and mopped. All bathrooms are sanitized.
***note that the property is one street away from a fairly busy small town road. Expect to hear some small town traffic noise while on the porch or if the windows are open.

overalwe had a lovely weekend. the only real issue was that we arrived in the dark. there were no lights on and navigating the stairs to enter the home in the dark was difficult. Additionally, the house was very cold when we arrived and took a few hours to reach a comfortable temperature. the space haters in the upstairs bedroom were helpful.
the kitchen was well stocked and we were able to prepare and enjoy several meals in the home.
it was close to all of the things we wanted to do and the property was very clean and well decorated.
Property was clean and inviting. The location is close to downtown Waynesville (blocks away) and only 30 minutes from Asheville. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend for anyone wanting to enjoy the mountains and have a nice place to stay.
The house was perfect for the visit to the area. It was girls family weekend of 5 to see the Biltmore and shop in Waynesville. Comfortable beds, nice showers, thick towels and great location. We would stay here again!
This house was very roomy for 3 couples. We were close enough to all of the things we wanted to do…Bryson City Train etc. loved relaxing on the front porch after long days of having fun!
We enjoyed our stay, house is lovely and convenient to downtown. Host was responsive. Busy road traffic and early check-out would be our only complaints. Would book again if ever back in the area.
We had 6 adults and three children, ages 8, 6 and 2. It was great to have a bedroom for each family. The upstairs was wonderful with the 2 twin beds and queen bed. It was a cozy home. It was a quiet neighborhood. The families were able to walk to the playground. We would definitely rent this again.
My husband & I loved this home, only one mile from Downtown Waynesville. It was clean, well-stocked and overall a lovely place to stay for a short trip. Highly recommend!
Beautiful remodeled older home with some modern conveniences. Loved that the character of the home was preserved. Waynesville is a beautiful town and was convenient for our multiple day trips. Would definite consider renting again if in the area.
We were in town for a wedding and loved our stay! The house had enough space for us five adults and we were all comfortable. The house is decorated beautifully and we loved visiting on the front porch with a lovely view of the mountains. Would recommend!
This house is absolutely beautiful. It's vintage meets modern chic. Upon arrival, the house was very clean. The kitchen had fully stocked utensils, spices and coffee. The bathrooms are gorgeous. I especially enjoyed the rain shower setup. Towels were five star ⭐. The bed had adequate pillows and was extremely comfortable. There was enough space for all of us. I'd reserved this house for my son-in-love's birthday trip. We all had a really great time. So many local attractions. We visited Lake Junaluska and enjoyed kayaking and miniature golf which was about a 10 mins drive. There's also, local shops within walking distance near the house as well as bars and restaurants. The Kornerstone Kafe is highly recommended. Anna responded to any questions, comments, etc. If I could give 10 stars, I totally would. We will definitely be back soon for the perfect getaway.
