Quiet and clean
This house is very clean and tidy. The owners think of all the little touches. They are easy to get a hold of if you need to. They provide detailed directions on how to use everything. It's very relaxing and hassel free staying here.

Well thought out
We loved staying at this house! Everything is well thought out, from having the needed cooking utensils for cooking for the family to hooks by the hot tub. The property is beautiful and we wish we had more time to just enjoy the place.

Carol is an incredibly thoughtful host! Every little detail of the property was well-intentioned and deliberately helpful. It is possibly the cleanest home I’ve ever rented and I will absolutely be singing Carol’s praises to my friends and family. I usually like to visit new places and see new sights, but the whole experience has me looking for a return trip already.

Delightful Stay -- Perfect view of Eclipse!
How wonderful it was to witness the total eclipse from a back yard (complete with hot tub!) in the path of totality. Could not have asked for a better location.

My wife and I stayed at this property for a weekend. It was super peaceful. The garden is great! I loved to be out there in the morning. The house is in great condition, the beds and other furniture comfortable, and the amenities described in the listing were accurate. The hosts went above and beyond in their rental. We loved the stay and will come back!

A bears rest is a family rest
This is one of the best places we have stayed in. Everything was so clean and the amenities were just amazing. When we pulled in, and saw the paved driveway going into a wooded area and then seeing the cabin, it was truly exciting. We walked in and the place was clean and there were so many little things that made it feel like home. Lots of movies, games, and there was plenty of cooking utensils and kitchenware. There was a fully stocked Keurig with cups of hot chocolate and coffee. There was also charge port/plugs in each room. Plenty of towels, laundry stuff, grill items, dishwasher and cleaners that made the stay that much better. Carol had a little basket of snacks and chocolates for my kids which was really sweet. The hot tub was fabulous with plenty of towels and an easy access bathroom to change and also a laundry room attached. There was a book that had all the instructions on how to navigate the place. Also, great information on the area. We spent some time at the Wright Patterson Airforce Base Museum which is about 25 min from the cabin. The museum is free and it is huge with so much to see. I highly recommend their place…you won’t be disappointed…the pictures don’t do it justice. Lots of privacy and you feel like you have your own place to just rejuvenate and relax. We will definitely be back to enjoy this gem of a place!

Get away weekend
My wife and I stayed for 2 days on our way back from Tennessee. This house is everything you need to take a couple days and just relax. We really enjoyed our day in Waynesville, it's just an awesome little town. We will definitely revisit.

Perfect getaway
My husband and I came down from Michigan for a short getaway. It was so nice to just relax at the cabin and play board games, watch movies and relax. The place was clean, cozy, and we loved the hot tub. We also found a rodeo down the road that was really fun to go to. We will definitely be back!

In the summer we can hear the announcer at the rodeo depending on wind direction. We used to go regularly when didn’t have so much to do.

Outstanding Cottage - Great Location!!
We were very impressed with the overall accommodations, and the additional small touches the owners put into making your stay extra special. It is convenient to Waynesville shopping and Caesars Creek for hiking. The owners are very responsive when contacting them, and we would definitely stay here again… And hope to do so. I was able to meet the owners and they are the most kind wonderful people one could have as a host. The pictures do not do the place justice. Perfect for a couples getaway yet suitable to bring while family. Kitchen is amazing hot tub/deck is suberb with a warm cozy environment. Like staying in your favorite cabin with good local food,brewys, and taverns close by. I was blessed during my stay. I pray God blesses everyone who stays there and the owners as well can't wait to come back!!! 5 stars all the way!!!

Had a family reunion then stay with some out of state family here. Thought we was getting a secluded cabin in the woods but was on the same property as the owners. The house was clean some of the dishes in the cabinets were not clean but had a fully stocked kitchen. Overall our experience was pretty good and we enjoyed our stay.

Relaxing Weekend
I took my best friend for a weekend of R&R for her birthday. We both enjoyed ourselves. It was quiet and easy to find. The cabin was clean and there was everything we expected in the kitchen. We could have used another pan and a pair of tongs, but managed just fine with the one pan and a spatula. The hot tub was very relaxing. Would recommend and book again in the future.

A calm place, to decompress
Unfortunately we had to come to town for my Moms burial service. We all live out of state and ate no longer familiar with the area. This home was so perfectly located for us. When we arrived it was absolutely beautiful. The perfect spot for us to stay. The home was so clean and decorated nicely. We loved the oberal theme and comfort of the house. Huge plus was the 2 bathrooms! When all of us have to get ready at the same time ( with a teenager) this is a big bonus! I felt very at home there, comfortable, safe and relaxed

Coziest Lil’Cabin Ever! We spent Christmas weekend here & it was Perfectly Memorable ❤️💚
I decided to create an experience for my family rather than a regular Christmas morning for my teens. I love the surprise of spending somewhere different for Christmas morning. we had everything we needed to make brunch dinner baked cookies, soaked on the hot tub, played games and watched old DVDs… it was one for the books!!!

Great Location
The Bear's Rest cabin is beautiful and very immaculate. The location is great if you are in the area for shopping and antiques, restaruants, amusement park or theater. There is a library of dvds that are in alphabet order to choose from. We enjoyed some Christmas movies and snacks that where provided. The hot tub was great after a day of shopping, watching the parade in Lebanon and the Winterfest at Kings Island. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend Bear's Rest to everyone. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

So wonderful

Perfect Stay
My preteen/teen boys and I came to Ohio to visit Ohio for the first time from Maui. My mom & dad joined us from AZ. This house was perfect for us. The owners had the house so well organized and perfect for our stay. The house was beautiful and the hot tub was a perfect ending to our days. The location was wonderful…it seemed secluded but it was so close to town. The owners were very nice and my boys enjoyed talking to them. We can’t wait to come back and visit.

Quiet Cabin Stay
The driveway to this little getaway is definitely a secluded forest-y entrance, so make sure to read the arrival directions. Place was clean and as represented, with the exception of the owner’s home being probably 150 ft from the cabin. That was a surprise, however, they did not “check in”/otherwise disturb us, even when we had three vehicles instead of the two I anticipated and so one was parked somewhat in the way. Had a dvd player and great movie options we really appreciated using instead setting up one of our accounts, though that was also an option. Wifi was great, and there’s a cute little back area can take pictures or spend time out in as desired.

Great stay
We were visiting Ohio for the Western and Southern Open professional tennis tournament. Carol’s place was the perfect place for our visit. Everything is newly remodeled. My friend and I joked a few times that, “Carol has thought of everything.” The attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed by us. The backyard (where the hot tub is) provides a lot of privacy. It’s very peaceful. It’s also a very nice neighborhood - feels like you’re a “away from it all” but there’s also nice parks and restaurants nearby.

Weekend Getaway
We stayed in the area to visit family, go to the Air Force Museum and the Fairborn Sweet Corn Festival. This property was close to all the activities we had planned. After a busy day it was nice to come back to a clean, comfy house and relax in the hot tub in the private fenced in yard. The house had everything we needed and then some. You can definitely tell the property owners takes pride in their home and do everything needed to make their guests feel welcome! We will stay here again the next time we're in town visiting family!

GREAT
Would have given check -in 5 stars but took many tries to get the code to work on the lock. I could not figure out how to contact the host. My fault, I'm sure. I am not tech savy so took quite awhile. You may want to MARK your entrance driveway better because it is a hidden driveway & quite hard to find, especially at night. Had a WONDERFUL stay. The home is immaculately clean and has EVERYTHING you need. I did have a little trouble stepping up the step from the living room into the rest of the home because I have a bad hip.. WE WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN. LOVED IT.

We have a folding ramp that we used in the past when our disabled uncle lived there. We used it inside the house. We would be willing to order a second ramp for the front porch if it would help. We are brainstorming how to get light at the end of the driveway. We have had a couple of lights there and they get stolen so we are trying to figure out how to get lighting high enough that thieves aren’t able to reach it and what we can mount it on. My husband will be glad to walk through the door lock operation on your next visit. Once you know how it works, it is easy to operate.

Great cabin!
My wife and I were looking for a place close to home that we could get away to while the kids were at camp. We have done Hocking Hills in the past but wanted something close and decided to give this cabin a try. We were not disappointed. The cabin is newly renovated and the attention to detail is fantastic. Will definitely be coming again in the winter to try out the heated floors.
