Timber verandah with BBQ over looking the Waukivory Valley. Galley kitchen, laundry and bathroom ,main living/dinning has an elegant wood fire. The property is set on two acres, wonderful for bird watchers and wildlife lovers. Just relax and enjoy the valley. Your welcome to walk around the property, feed the chickens and collect the eggs, please remember to shut the gate. The vegetable garden is there to enjoy we share our produce when in season. We respect nature and love our visits from the kangaroos, parrots, magpies, kookaburras, butcher birds, galas, willy wag tails, green tree frogs and the cows at times are at every fence of the property. The kitchen has everything you need to cook your own breakfast (eggs from our chickens) There are teas, coffee's and the basics you need to feel at home. There is a wooden deck with BBQ for you to enjoy, all windows have bug screens. The water is filtered rain water and we do have a filtered water station in the kitchen. There's are great wood fire inside wonderful for those cold winters nights. Plenty of wood stacked easy accessable and you can enjoy picking up sticks around the property for those starters. There is a screen guard to keep kids safe. There is also an out door fire pit if you feel like cooking a camp oven meal. Open fires are subject to fire restrictions when in place by the rural fire service. We will let you know. The TV is free to air channels, there is a DVD player and a port for your USB to watch your own movies. We can organise a private yoga class on the deck. There are some mats and blocks for you to use. This is a great property to come and unwind, relax and recentre yourself in nature or use it as a base to explore the National Parks in the area.

The Old Waukivory School House was such a delight - lots of character, spotlessly clean and very thoughtfully provisioned and appointed. In an age when many hosts don't even bother to leave you with tea or coffee or oil and spices, Katherine has gone out of her way to provide you with everything you could want for your weekend stay - fresh eggs, bread, butter, milk, juice, chocolate, snacks, the list goes on! The house and gardens were beautifully presented, the spa was warm, and the fire was set ready to be lit. Katherine's pride in her cottage and exceptional generosity were very much appreciated as were the wonderful views of the valley and quiet location.
Highly recommended!
Beautiful quiet location in picturesque valley. Gorgeous house and garden with lovely sunny and shady spots to sit throughout the day with amazing views. Dogs loved the property, it’s so big, securely fenced and lots to see and do. Everything provided and easy contact with host. Would definitely stay again 😊
Magic spot, lush green views, cows in distant paddocks...Moooing - too relaxing. While the accommodation warms you with an era gone-by. Worth in every way the 3hrs from Sydney drive with half on motorway and half country views. Stroud is worth a stop and via Dugong on way back, don't forget Gloucester mountains.
We had the best end to a busy 2022 at Katherine’s place. The silence, broken only by the sounds of the farm animals and nature, was spectacular. Katherine’s generous and thoughtful hospitality makes one feel right at home. I aimed to have a cuppa in all the beautiful spots she created, but we’ll have to return to fulfil that. We watched the day arrive from the spa and counted stars next to the fire pit in the evenings. Let’s keep this gem our secret - shhh 🤐
We had a wonderful relaxing time at the Waukivory School House. It is such a beautiful property with lots to explore, the wide open spaces were heaven for our dog! It was also really special to have chickens and goats on the property to interact with. If you're looking for some R&R this place is perfect!
The School House at Waukivory is a dream place to stay. Kathy was a great host; very easy to deal with - and very accomodating. The property is set amongst beautiful countryside, but doesn't feel remote. The drive from Gloucester is easy (even in the rain). The bed is comfortable (lovely sheets and doona), the lounge was warm and inviting, and the outside areas were sublime. A view from every angle. And, chickens and goats to keep you amused. It's an easy drive back into town for supplies or coffee. There are two particularly good cafes in Gloucester - The Common (great fruit sourdough and the best hot chocolate) and Roadies (particularly good gluten-free 'muffins' and coffee), and a friendly pub worth having lunch at. Lovey's IGA has everything you'll need; not that you'll need much. Kathy provided bread, cheese, milk, ice cream, tea, coffee, beer and wine, chocolate and lollies ... We had planned to venture out to other towns in the district, but found everything we needed in Gloucester - great walks, places to bike ride, even a local museum. I can highly recommend the School House at Waukivory for a relaxing weekend or extended holiday.
This place is amazing!! We had our two children and our poodle. I really couldn’t have asked for a better break. The kids absolutely loved feeding the chooks and goats every day. We were all sad to leave this beautiful property. After 6 months of home schooling balanced with working full time it was the exact medicine we all needed. Gloucester was only a short drive away where we all swam in the river.
Kathy was awesome and so easy to deal with. Do yourself a favour and book this property!! We will be back.
Beautiful and restful. Kathy was great to deal with and it was nice to find such a great yard for our (spoiled) dog to safely potter around in. We will definitely go back.
This house was one of the best I’ve stayed in. It felt like coming home. It was clean, well equipped and so peaceful.
Kathy was wonderful, and made us feel so welcome. There were so many added special bonuses. My daughter loved the ice cream.
Would recommend to anyone.
