Top Watcombe Beach Hotel Reviews
The Imperial Torquay
10/10 Excellent
"The cleaner was very pleasant and helpful. On the first morning she adjusted the shower unit so that the water wasn't dangerously hot. Toilet roll was not replaced one day. The bed was well made. Some dust left on the table and TV screen."
Anchorage Hotel & Spa
8/10 Good
"Staff ,manager, very helpful, other staff friendly and good service. Hotel a bit dated but good value for money"
St Anns - beautiful detached cottage in Torquay
10/10 Excellent
"We had an excellent stay at this cottage, the property was clean with all the essentials topped up the toilet tissue etc, the host even left us new bread in the kitchen. The property itself is really spacious and has a touch of modern and classic elements. The check in process was exceptionally smooth and straightforward with excellent communication from the host to ensure that we were happy with our stay. The host was very quick to reply with any queries we had and really friendly. Overall I highly recommend this place and you will not be disappointed with your stay here and we will happily rebook here next time we are in Torquay."
The Babbacombe Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The staff was very nice breakfast also very good only issue parking better reservations before or use street parking"
The Buccaneer Inn
10/10 Excellent
"Fantastic location overlooking the hilltop sea views. Last minute overnight booking, with only the rear looking room available (would like to try the sea view rooms next time). Room was immaculately clean with a fan, iron (and board), hairdryer, microwave, toaster, fridge and kettle (also tea, coffee and milk, that you can have refilled if you need more). Staff were absolutely fantastic from the time we checked in to when we left. Bar and food area downstairs (also plenty of outdoor seating). I would say the only minus to this rear room was views to back car park and generators. Was advised before hand that the generator slight noise (like an extractor fan sound), goes off after food is stopped in evening. This didn’t have any impact on our stay as we wasn’t in the room during the day and wasn’t back till after 9pm. Car park ( Princes St) run by local authority is £11 for over 6 hours to 17hrs (free from 12 midnight til 7am). Staying longer than 2 or 3 days and plan to park around the councils Torbay car parks; you can buy a 4 and 7 day permit from between £31 and £55 ( I guess change every year - https://www.torbay.gov.uk/parking/parking-permits/car-park-permits/ ) If staying a couple of days, try and find a free parking space on the seafront/side roads about 100 yards up the road. As for Babbacombe, great stay away from the busier resorts around. Lovely hilltop bay front with lots of benches. Seen lots of people with camper chairs and blankets on the grass front."
Mount Rose Cottage, 73 Hartop Road, Torquay, Babbacombe/St Marychurch
8/10 Good
"The property is a lovely old cottage in a convenient location for all local tourist areas. The kitchen is very well equipped not that we used it much as we ate out most days. The lounge and bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are good. We were disappointed with the garden,it was overgrown with old rusty furniture not as shown on the pictures. We did want to BBQ but it wasn’t suitable which was a shame as the weather was lovely. There were a number of woodlice and other creepy crawlies in the entrance hall, it didn’t bother me but the kids were not happy with it, but that’s the nature of an old house I suppose. There is no parking directly outside the property but there is some further up the road outside other houses.Hazel the hostess was very nice on text messages and was very prompt to reply to messages, thank you Hazel. All in all a good cottage and with a few tweaks could be excellent."

"Our first mini break away alone, in 13 years and it didn't dissapoint. Anne is the most lovely host, so organised, courteous and kind, nothing was too much trouble. We were a little hot in the small double room, however Anne quickly provided a fan that assisted well. Breakfast was very tasty and scheduled for a time to suit us. Anne was very accommodating to my intolerances and catered with alternative milk and yoghurt. When booking I was unsure if booking the pool would be inconvenient, if plans changed and did think why did they not have the pool open at all times. However, when we were there it all made sense. You book your time slot for your 2 hour private session, with your selection of music, Anne was kind enough to bring us water & icecream during too. It would not have been the same tranquil experience if we would have been in the pool with others. The pool and poolside was extremely clean. The pool was warm at 30degrees. The whole atmosphere of the house and garden was tranquil and relaxing, it truly gave spa vibes. It was just what we were looking for. We did think you could do some costal walks directly from the house but that was my mistake for not looking into this more. However, everywhere was so close by car. We visited Babbicombe, Totnes, Torquay, Teignmouth, Mary Church and Dawlish. Please follow the directions to the house that are sent to you as we got to the bottom of the road (the wrong end) and it was very dangerous to drive up."
