Strangely, this is what Justin B. wrote when he arrived my home: “We have arrived and booking has been modified. You have a beautiful house by the way.” However, 5 months later Justin B. leaves a very mean spirited and devilish review. Justin B. thought he was slick by reserving for 1 person only and trying to show up with 5 unauthorized additional persons to my home. He was informed to add them all to the booking and didn’t like such a reasonable request nor other normal communication that was provided throughout his one night stay. Sadly, Justin B.’s negative and very xenophobic review exposes the hurt that he has had in his life… Hurt people try hard to hurt others… I’ve had a PhD for almost 30 years now and there’s not a need to flex. I really do use my professional title “Dr.” in front of my name Koura. I’m sorry Justin B. has an inferiority complex about my educational reality and does not like the fact that he has not attained such an academic status. The nerve of Justin B. to call my African art “tacky.” How shameful and disgraceful considering the financial and cultural value of the pieces that are on display in my home. You’d think that he would love the African art considering his quest to sound like an “African American” male win he sings. Justin claimed that he spent so much money to stay at my home. Huh? What a joke! Justin paid $40 per 6 persons that slept at my home. He and his guests received more than what they actually paid for. I’m not sure why Justin B. all of a sudden felt a need to claim that he paid a hefty amount like staying at “The Ritz-Carlton,” when in fact he knew exactly well that he paid for a cheap, safe, and very clean sleep at my home in Bloomingdale NW. Justin B.’s claim that the AC window units did not work is new to me. He waited 5 months later to brew up falsehoods about my home and wrote such nonsense. How evil and wicked of Justin B. Not only did all the window units work but the forced cooling too. My home is properly listed with truthful details of the beds offered with photos of each. It states all twin beds and IKEA-sofa beds. My listing does not purport to give a 5-star experience. It is priced accordingly for what I am offering. In life, you get what you pay for. If Justin B. nor his guests opted not to use the shower, trust it was not because of the state of the bathrooms as he claims to be “shetchy [sic].” It’s the choice that they made to be nasty in the same manner in which this poor review that Justin B. so gleefully wrote. He who laughs last always laughs best. Simply ignore Justin B.’s false rants of confusion. His plot to try to throw you off from renting my home, is a comedy of errors. If you’re not too fussy my home is ideal. Save your cash on better things to do in DC and no need to to throw away “hotel-money.” Come encounter an authentic and very pleasant cultural experience in Bloomingdale NW. It’s a very trendy neighborhood and my humble home awaits to receive you!

Lori and her 8 other friends stayed at my home one night. It was not a pleasant experience to host them. They paid so little and expected so much more. Lori was pretentiously nice but as deceitful as her poor review of my home. So carry on and ignore this review and read more credible and true ratings.

They “looked” for problems and “found” some just to air out in a public forum. Ignore their rant and carry on to read more and truthful reviews. They claim they ended up with sinus infections from my home. How cheeky their comments are. My home is thoroughly cleaned professionally for each arriving guest and free of mold. Rhan A. and his wife could not have gotten an infection from any mold in my home because there was none.

It was a pleasure to host Milan and his crew. They were excellent guests! My home is only 1.9 miles from the National Mall where all the museums are. It takes no more than 11 minutes even on a busy day.

Most young folk watch “TV” on their personal devices. The home is setup for a simple stay for sleeping and not for entertaining. Thus, it is priced accordingly.

Ralph paid so little to accommodate his large family and expected so much. The home has aged and is priced accordingly. Guests like Ralph are very difficult to please. Staying at a traditional hotel in DC would have best fitted the standards of Ralph. However, his budget could only afford my humble home which the details of the listing clearly spells out. Listing state PUBLIC STREET PARKING which is FREE in DC. The price for 5 is not the price for 10 to stay at my home which is already heavily discounted. There’s no TVs by design/purpose. Thus, Ralph didn’t pay for those expected amenities. I offer a clean, safe, and cheap sleep in DC.

James felt super entitled for a $37 per person/per night in a cheap, clean, and safe rental in DC. My home is simply designed for sleeping and recharging as listed and photographed. James make mention of the dining room arrangement/chairs which are stated and photographed. Why would James believe that he would have a giant table different from the one in the photograph that was displayed at booking? James could not afford an accommodation that would best support his pompous desires for he and his large family…but “lucks” up upon my economically priced home and instantly booked it. In life you get what you pay for. I’m sorry James thought he would have television in the home when the amenities does not include televisions nor does the price include having any televisions? Nowhere in the amenities does it state that a dishwasher is in the home. James is upset because dishes used required a manual cleaning. Oops, James needed a machine to wash theirs but the price of the rental does not include a dishwasher. The home is a very basic setup, hostel-like arrangement. The listing states that if you desired more in the kitchen bring more to enhance your personal stay. The guests before him broke the faucet and it was repaired as quickly as possible. James wanted to sleep free in my home because of the slow running sink. James make hosting horrible. James dived deep to make up a false claim about dirt in the bathroom corners of the bathroom on top level. The home is immaculately cleaned for each arriving new guests. Corners are old but all are thoroughly cleaned. James’ poor behavior was reported and fellow hosts please be AWARE of this maker of trouble.

DeeDee and crew were so pleasant and warm throughout their stay. They took really good care of the home and were so easy to host. I was very pleased to host them! As listed, the kitchen is bare by design. All potential guests, please bring "your equipment" should you desire more than a basic set-up. Sorry DeeDee that you were a bit challenged in the kitchen.

I have had a PHD for almost 30 years, as long as I have been a legal landlord in DC. Brad B's mentioning that I focused "on advertising" my degree is a joke...lol. Such a tragic truth that Brad B felt a burning need to mention my educational level in a negative light in his very scathing review. Sorry, it bothered him to see and realize that I use my professional title: "Dr." Sadly, Brad B could not afford to stay in a proper hotel and booked my home based upon his low budget. Seemingly, Brad B's low and highly coded review equates to the low behavior he and his guests displayed at my home. My home does not purport to be more than what is advertised. Brad B paid $46 a night per person per night to stay in a clean, safe, and a most economical beautiful Victorian home in a very centrally located neighborhood in our Nation's Capitol. I have opened my home primarily for young budgeted travelers. Brad B attests to the fact that he desired a more luxurious setting that he clearly could not afford to stay. My home is scarce by design. It is simply a place to crash, refresh, and carry-on into the city. There are no lamps, drawers, end tables, chest, and etc. All of these items seemed to have been of importance to Brad B. Yet, in my listing, it clearly states what is there. I guess Brad B's imagination took control over him when he saw how decent the lower level of my home was and the price to rent there. Had Brad B properly read the listing for my home and viewed all the photographs presented, perhaps he would not be so negative in his review. Photographs on my listing show the amenities provided, no pomp and circumstances needed to coo anyone to rent my humble home. It offers what it offers for the price purposefully stated. No jacuzzi was advertised for Brad B to use but yet he felt a need and thought he was entitled to use it, when not having paid for an experience as such. Brad B left my home filthy. The kitchen nasty, refrigerator nasty, and the microwave nasty, just as his review. The trash was not discarded, as instructed. Brad B left his used condom on the bedroom floor, stained and soiled my sheets. Left feces on all toilets. Just straight-up nasty! Imagine, staying just 3 nights only. If I were you, I wouldn't let Brad B's nasty review deter your decision to experience my home. Tonya's review is poor as her behavior at my home. She did not wish to take any responsibility for the multiple damages caused in my home. As for the bugs that she "discovered," the cleaning crew even suspected that she and her crew brought them. Please note that regular preventive methods and treatments are used to keep the home pest-free. Also, the home is professionally cleaned, after each guest. Tonya did not respect the rules at my home and freely smoked weed on the premises. When I told her of my neighbors' complaint of her excessive weed smoking; she rudely and arrogantly proclaimed that she had legal rights to smoking weed at my home. Tonya and crew were not clean either. They threw simple and small trash items onto the floors that could have easily been discarded just inches away in the trash bins. Lastly, their fake hair was found throughout the home all over the floors. Please note that my home is simple and designed for a cheap, clean. and safe sleep. Thus, it is priced accordingly. Please carry on and read more truthful and more credible reviews of my home.

It was pleasure and honor to host Jackie and her friends at my home. They were the perfect guests!

When asked would I rent again to Angie Getto, I clicked: “No.” She was charged for marring the wood floor & breaking an electrical socket cover. Angie checked out & did not mention a word of these damages. What Angle failed to realize is that the home is not neglected by no means even if she believed so because the bath tiles on top floor are cracked (smh…and eyes going up in my head ). I am well aware of the condition of my home & know exactly when guests like Angie break things and try to hide the evidence in an attempt not to take any responsibility for damages. Angie claims she couldn’t find a broom or dustpan in the home. Yet, in the same utility closet where she found puddy to “repair” the electrical socket were two brooms and two dustpans readily available per her use. Imagine, you go way out of your way to batch and patch up a $6 electrical socket cover, as opposed to informing the host that you broke the existing one, by accident? smh…As listed and photographed very accurately, as well thoroughly narrated, my home in Bloomingdale NW DC is priced accordingly for a clean and safe sleep for a night or two. There’s no pomp and circumstances needed. I open my home and arms out primarily for young travelers who need to rest and recharge at an affordable price in our Capital city,Oftentimes, gratitude is found and hosting is rewarding. Ok, getting back to Angie and her drama…Angie goes on to lament about trash bags. By design and intentionally, only two bags are given. I personally met Angie and her husband. They seemed to be nice and honest. Angie strangely and eagerly asked me about not seeing hand towels. I thought it was a bit bizarre request given the fact that she paid so little to stay at my home. I informed them that there was a face towel and bath towel only. What did she think…that she was at the W Hotel in Georgetown? I think not! Just as she makes it known in her review that only one kitchen towel was provided: Correct. 99% of my guests do not even use the kitchen, let alone bother the provided kitchen towel. It make sense for the 1% of guests like Angie who may need additional kitchen supplies, gadgets, and more kitchen towels, to bring them as suggested in the listing. The listing states: no dishwasher. Thus, none was there upon Angie’s arrival…duh! Lastly, no need to take pictures upon arrival. No one is “out to get you!” Mistakes happen and when they do, they must be repaired at a cost to the responsible person…and the beat goes on!

I’m glad that Susan has presented my exact response to her very pretentious innocence. She and her family stayed at my home for 6 (six) nights and messaged me a litany of concerns after her checkout. Here’s one of my last response to her folly: “Good Morning Susan, My listing and photographs are very accurate. No deception used or needed to coo anyone to rent my home. Unlike your deceptive intentions to show up with additional guests without expecting to pay for them. Then breaking my art chair, propping it up against the wall to pretend like you didn’t break it, and then checking out without a word of damaging my property? Are you serious? You’re actually not trying to take any responsibility in breaking my chair? Sure you “forgot” about reporting it, just as you “forgot” to report the leak? Now you claim that I “attacked” you? Your threat is not valid nor sound.” Susan’s claim that my floors were not clean really amazed me…smh… What my security camara did show was how Susan and her family often entertained outside without shoes and socks on the outside ground. Thus, bringing the outside nastiness into the home and onto the flooring. Then, accused me of having dirty floors…smh. So the reader knows who was not kind and very deceptive.

Pascale D.'s review of my home reflects the energy that she came and left with from start to finish. It took no less than 4 attempts for her booking to confirm due to the numerous failed credit card charges that were not valid. Eventually she succeeded but my gut feelings feared that trouble was headed my way. Unfortunately, Pascale's purse pockets could not afford her high expectations of the budgeted experience my home offers and which she so diligently booked because of the price. There are no hidden agendas or false advertising, and all is spelled out in the listing of my home. In fact, the listing is very detailed to deter the would-be-Pascale(s) away from staying. The biggest irony is the claim of nowhere to sit in the living room area. The African utilitarian "art" seating are numerous and those alone can seat 6 persons, in addition to the sofa and dinning room chairs, add 8 more persons. Thus, comfortably 14 persons can be seated without fuss. Ignore Pascale's disrespect about using the art as coat racks. Sorry, Pascale could not truly appreciate the beauty in the African art. Pascale did not pay to have a washer and dryer, dishwasher, TV, nor to use the fireplace. None of these items are listed in the advertising of the home. Thus, her negative desire to rate the home poorly is simply unjust and not fair. In Washington, DC $35 per person cannot get you all of the above mentioned amenities that Pascale thought she paid for to stay at my home...smh. Pascale is really in her feelings because she thought she was privileged and I was obligated to allow her to arrive earlier than the check in time. When asking her to pay the $20 for the early check in fee, it shattered her entire belief system. Nonetheless, she was charged like all other guests that wish to arrive early to the home. Do ignore Pascale's malicious review in her attempt to bring down my ratings. Most of it is not true, just as her claim not to have used the blankets. Every blanket had been used in the home...lol! If you are not looking for perfection and simply need a very clean, safe, and economical sleep in DC, you're welcome to benefit from staying at my home. Just as Pascale and her group of 11 persons benefited, so can you. If you have stayed with me through all of this drama, thanks and keep calm by reading the more credible reviews before and after Pascale's.

Richard’s review comes with a much surprise. My home has 4 chairs listed and photographed. Thus, Richard should have booked a more accommodating home that would best suit him and his guests. All beds are listed and photographed as twins. Again, Richard’s aspirations were bigger than his budget. He paid for a cheap sleep and not research assistance for his getaway to DC. Google provides excellent referral by simply goggling “______ near me.” Richard’s review highly disappoints because he gave me the appearance that all was ok at my home. How deceitful now to rate my home “average” when he got the best of a clean, safe, and cheap sleep in the Nation”s capital; all of what I guarantee in my listing. Please don’t be tainted and miss out on a great benefit as Richard and his guests experienced. Keep calm and keep reading more credible reviews.

I was very excited to know that Henri and his family chose my home to bring their son to attend my alma mater. They were very responsible and respectful guests. I appreciated their patience and tolerance with the resolution of the leaks that occurred during their stay. DC experienced a flash flood and it was a challenge to my 126-year old home. I do hope some beauty of the home was revealed to Henri and his family, considering “beauty is the shadow of imperfection."
