A very well kept cottage in a quiet position, very convenient for visiting local nature reserves and stately homes, we also enjoyed a ride on the Swanage Railway and a trip to the seaside at Weymouth. We very much enjoyed our stay.
Wonderful stay, very close to great restaurants and sites. The fireplace was great for the chilly evenings. We would stay here again if we are ever back in the area. Management was excellent and promptly answered any questions.
A perfect cottage for a lovely Christmas break. The cottage had everything we needed including a real Christmas tree!
Perfect location for visiting Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth. Also close proximity to a good range of supermarkets to do your shop.
Communication with the owner was also excellent. Will definitely visit again if available to book.
A wonderful property, full of charm and very comfortable. Andrew was very prompt and always was available to answer questions. The Town itself is charming and well situated and we highly recommend the Royal Oak Pub. Thank you, we will return!
We had a lovely stay in this charming cottage. Very clean as well. It has a bathroom with a toilet and a separate toilet with a basin which is super useful as we were 4 people staying. The kitchen is spacious for breakfast and preparing. The sofas are very cozy to watch tv after a long day exploring the area !
Very happy with the property. It was a good size for our group to share meals. A lovely circular walk on the doorstep and very nearby chalk stream. A bit of a drive to local coast. It’s near a noisy road which you can’t see but you can’t hear it at all from inside the house.
Enjoyed our stay at Swallows Cottage. So much character and lovely sunny garden. Only suggestions would be to have a bigger duvet on the double bed, particularly for the tall guests, and also more comfortable garden furniture. Otherwise, had everything we needed. Great location for exploring the Dorset attractions.
Lovely quaint cottage with loads of character but with everything we needed for our holiday. Loved the garden and enjoyed plenty of downtime in the sun. Great apple tree too, made a crumble! Would recommend.
A week holiday was really great. Dorset ist very interessting. The cottage was great a good mixture of an old part with living room / bed rooms and a new part with bathrooms and kitchen. In addition a nice garden with a garden house. All fine.
Cottage is lovely, bedrooms up a winding staircase and toilets are downstairs, so bear that in mind. Andrew the host sorted an issue quickly that we had with the Electric meter cupboard falling off the wall, the location is quite remote, village has 2 pubs and a convenience store. It is very peaceful.
This was our second Christmas spent at Andy’s cottage. Perfect size for the three of us. Kitchen has all of the essentials and is a lovely size looking out over the garden and fields. Shitterton is a lovely quiet hamlet with lovely period, thatched cottages. Most of our time was spent in the cosy, spacious living room with a fire roaring away. Lovely place and Andy is a great host and responds promptly to any questions.
Excellent quiet & well located cottage. It had all the facilities & ammenities we required - especially as we are traveling around mostly southern England in a hire car and renting cottages for weekly stays for over 2 months.
This cottage is a fantastic place to stay, It lives up to how it is advertise. It is beuatiful and tranquil and has every thing you need to enjoy your stay. Would definitly recommend. I enjoy it so much, have visited 4 years in a row.
We had a truly lovely stay at the cottage. it was so peaceful and welcoming, with everything we needed for a relaxing break, with some wonderful walks right on your doorstep. As for an added bonus in the garden at the rear of the property there is a sunhouse with all the tables, sun loungers, Chairs even games to keep the children amused.I would surely stay here again if and when we are down this way.
The cottage was lovely in all respects. It was beautifully situated in a picturesque location, with a spacious back garden for relaxing and having breakfast. The situation was perfect for visiting local sights and amenities. Athelhampton House, Hardy's House and Cottage and Lawrence of Arabia's cottage at Clouds Hill amongst many. Our favourite seaside and beach was Swanage.
