We had a wonderful stay. We were lucky to have an upstairs room with a corner window that has amazing views of the lake. Spacious and comfortable.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, stunning views over the lake, and really nice room. We enjoyed an evening in the outdoor hot tub. It’s about a 30 minute walk into the main strip in town but we really enjoyed the walk and being that bit further round the lake. Plenty of parking in the town if people needed to drive instead. Perhaps the bathroom could do with a refurb, but that certainly would not stop us from coming back.

A gem!

Loved the Edgewater Wanaka. Definitely recommend. Spacious rooms and well equipped. Loved hiring the bikes to go for a ride around the lake. Would stay again- but longer next time!

If you are eloping in NZ and taking off in a helicopter, I highly recommend booking the Edgewater, and if you can get it, premium suite #101. It was a mere 20m from our patio to the waiting helicopter, no having to drive anywhere etc. That aside, the staff were so friendly with lots of nice personal touches noting our celebration. The refurbished rooms are tastefully decorated and spacious. Being right on the lake is beautiful and plenty of available parking. Getting into town is walkable otherwise a comfortable 5 min drive.

Beautiful Place

The location is absolutely beautiful. The staff were excellent — special thanks to the restaurant manager, who was extremely kind. Breakfast comes with a great view, and the à la carte options are better than the buffet. A few rooms haven’t been renovated yet. We stayed in one of them — it was still nice, but the heating wasn’t strong enough and the shower was weak. Still, it’s a great hotel overall, and we’d love to come back.

Wow! What a magical place Edgewater is. I came to relax and as soon as i walked in I felt calm. The restaurant has fabulous food, from breakfast to dinner. Sitting outside up on the hill and looking down at the lake was my favourite. The grounds are just lovely. The staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. They even offered to carry my bags to my room. The walk around the lake was absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend a stay here.
