SeaClift - Big Stump Beach Ocean Front

SeaClift is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home at the edge of town located at the popular Big Stump Beach. Miles of sandy beach to walk. Just to the south of the home is where you will find Big Stump, a very old tree. A redwood stump, to be exact, when redwoods are known to be confined to the area south of Brookings. A redwood which, it appears, grew here. People have been visiting it since long before the white settlers arrived; in fact, the local Native Americans honored it with an offering of white stones or shells as they passed by.

At SeaClift you can gather with friends or family with all the comforts of home. Enjoy an evening on the deck grilling up some yummy food or have a nice evening inside during those coastal blistery days.
There is room for everyone. SeaClift features 3 queen beds and a bunk bed for the kiddos. Your dog child is welcome too.

Endless ocean views

It’s an older home but was very comfortable & had everything we needed. The easy beach access was extremely nice. We hope to stay there again!

Great family vacation home! Beach access is two houses away. Beautiful view & quiet beach.

Overall a nice home. It is older, but we were all comfortable. I would suggest having patio chairs to better enjoy the view with. We had a great stay and we would definitely come back!

Great view

All three of us had a wonderful time. We each had our own bedroom. There were only about 3-5 other houses on this one little street and we were the last one. It was quiet and clean and comfortable. The cherry on top was the weather, turned out better than we thought it would. Long story short, our stay was excellent.

Size perfect, view perfect. Cleanliness so so. Very dusty when we got there, bath soaps from previous occupants left in shower. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

NICE OLD HOUSE

This is an old house but is comfortable, new floors and stove.(We stayed here @ 5 years ago) View from the deck is good, would be better if the bushes were trimmed down. Katie at Ocean Odyssey was great. Answered all our questions was always quick to return any phone calls. It would be nice if the garage were cleaned out and available to use.

Seaclift

We had a super time at Seaclift. The view was lovely and the easy access to the beach was excellent. The house has a “cottage feel,” that we liked. It is well-equipped for cooking, laundry, etc. Our beds were comfy. The manager was informative and helpful. When I was concerned about the yard being out of control with weeds and the view obstructed (from an earlier review), she assured me that everything had recently been trimmed. She was correct! We think this place is a perfect get-away!

Nice get away

Nice view. Very rainy but managed to get to the beach which has an access a couple of houses down. Very nice beach with the big stump just a short walk away. House was good. I did not do any cooking this trip so I can't comment on the kitchen set up. Slept in the back bedroom with the attached bathroom. It was all right, the bed needs a new mattress or better support. Luckily I brought my check in/checkout sheet I printed, there was no check out instructions in the house. I would stay there again. I rented it for the fenced yard, grass was over a foot tall but for the dog it was OK.

Do not recommend

If you bring your dog, they HAVE to be supervised. It was advertised as "fenced back yard." It is NOT-LOTS of holes! Our dog got out many times. Not enough supplies in kitchen. The master bed had a horrible mattress. There were two dangerous light switches. Bathroom fan did not work. Dining room chair and recliner broken and not usable. On the positive side, the view was beautiful. Enjoyed the wild rabbits in the yard. Good access to the beach.

Sealift Big Stump

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I enjoyed my stay at SeaClift. The weather did not cooperate, and it was very nice to sit around the fireplace and enjoy the view of the ocean. This is an older place, and if you’re looking for a fancy beach house, this isn’t the place for you. But I loved it, it has the old cabin feel of my childhood camping. The kitchen was very well supplied, the place was clean, with nice bedding and towels. Lots of pillows and extra blankets if needed. It has easy access to the beach, so we could come and go a couple times a day. There still is an ant problem, so food needed to be kept cleaned up and put away. Ocean Odyssey Vacation Rentals was extremely helpful and helped me adjust the reservation when my sister’s train was delayed. I definitely look forward to renting with them again.

mostly great

location is perfect. 3 bedrooms with comfortable beds. W/D are an added feature. Beach view from the back patio could't be better. Could use a better set of pots and pans and also I had to call for towels as there were very few and no kitchen washrags or towels. They were delivered withing 24 hours. Elec outlets in kitchen stopped working but no one called or camg by to fix. We just moved the coffee pot and toaster to an active outlet so made it work. Bought toilet paper and paper towels. I felt for the money it should have been better set up for visitors. Too much money for what we got so do not recommend it to anyone else.

October weekend on Big Stump beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved being right on the ocean. This group of cottages in Oregon includes a cabin where my family spent many Memorial Day Weekends in the 1970s. It is not available for rent, but Seaclift is. All these cottages are about 80 years old and most have not been upgraded much. They are "rustic" and eclectically furnished over the decades. Our cabin needs a lot of updating of fixtures and appliances. It was reasonably clean (we had an ant problem) but could be nicer. The proximity to the ocean makes up for it. Note that the unit does not have direct access to the ocean as our 70s cabin does. But access is only a couple of units away, so not terribly inconvenient. I would give our experience a solid 7 out of 10

The house isn't the nicest, since it is dated, but it's got 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms with queen beds (2 bunkbeds too, but we weren't looking for that), washer/dryer, and did I mention, a fenced in backyard! We brought our dogs, had all 5 adults able to sleep comfortably (though the mattresses could use replacing), and a great view of the ocean, beach, and waves! A big picture window and a sliding glass door out to a good sized deck that sits above the fence line made for great views! If you can get past the dated house, this is a great spot to rent.When we arrived, it hadn't been cleaned sufficiently (hair in the shower, nail clippings on the couch), so we reached out to the number they gave us to text if there were any issues, and they refunded us a night. I would have preferred they sent someone to clean. We felt an ick factor the rest of our stay which detracted a bit from our enjoyment. Overall, I'm glad we got away to the coast, and I would consider renting that place in the future. I believe in second chances.

Adequate, Needs TLC

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Good: The place was decently clean, the beds were comfortable, the location was safe and customer service was quick. The Bad: The yard looked like it hadn't been managed since last year. The weeds were 3-4 feet tall in both front and back yards. We couldn't use the backyard at all aside from the deck area. There was something growing through the wall in one of the bedrooms, maybe a bush or a weed?? That "vegetation" was covered in some kind of bug. Yes, it was in a dark corner of the room, but the cleaning service should have found this. Lastly, we arrived to a VERY leaky faucet. I sent a video to the manager who called within minutes to schedule a repair for the following day. Since it only leaked when it was on, we opted to have them fix it upon our departure. Customer Service was prompt, professional and kind -Thank you!I don't like leaving negative reviews, so I will conclude that the place has potential, it just needs some TLC.

Being so close to the beach was nice because we were able to take advantage of the weather breaks and get out there. The house is traditionally decorated and I loved that. It felt very homey and comfortable. It was very clean. The only negative was the tall grass in the backyard. We had our dogs with us, and it made it more difficult to clean up after them. The fenced-in yard was a great perk though

Cute, Cozy, Great View but low ceiling

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is an old beach cabin with a great ocean view. It has some nice updates (windows, floors, fireplace, deck), and a large added 3rd bedroom, 2nd bath, laundry and a garage which is not accessible with rental. The ceiling is very low (6'10") which can feel cramped, especially for tall people. The kitchen is overstocked with tableware and pots and pans, but is cramped. Interior maintenance was OK (a bedroom door would not latch, a wall light had no cover). Beds are comfy. The ocean side yard was a mess with invading shrubbery, uncut grass and a partially falling down rusty fence. Beach access is 2 houses away and has a good hand rail to help with the slippery footing. We liked it, but it's not for everyone.
