Welcome to Gingerbread Retreat, a colorful historic home in Walden that blends late 1800's character with thoughtful modern updates. This is the first phase of an ongoing renovation, so while many key spaces have been refreshed, the home still retains its original charm and evolving character.

The home comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests. There are two bedrooms with full beds, a bunk room with two twin beds, a bonus room with two full beds, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room.

The kitchen has been updated and is set up for group meals, with a full-size range and refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, tea kettle, and all the cookware, dishes, and basics you'll need during your stay. A washer and dryer are also available for guest use.

While there is no traditional dining table, guests can gather comfortably in the living room using provided TV trays and folding charirs, making it easy to share meals together in a relaxed setting.

The living room is designed for downtime, with a comfortable seating area, a queen sleeper sofa, board games, books, and extra blankets and pillows. You'll also find unique touches throughout the home that reflect its history, including a display of items uncovered during the renovation work.

The full bathroom features a walk-in shower and fresh towels and toiletries for your stay. A second half bathroom adds extra convenience for larger groups.

Outside, guests can enjoy a large, fenced yard that's great for families and dogs, along with a grill and simple outdoor seating area.

Gingerbread Retreat works well as a home base for families, hunters, outdoor enthusiasts, and groups visiting North Park. It's a place to unwind, enjoy the space, and experience a bit of Walden history with modern comfort.

A few notes: the home has some original historic quirks, and entry is through the back door, along with all the parking. Full check-in details will be provided before arrival. The home accommodates up to 10 guests, and up to two dogs are welcome with a pet fee. Smoking is not permitted inside.
