Spectacular!!!

We came here from Maui to see the big island for a few days and this place was spectacular! We wished that we had shortened our time on Maui to spend more time here! Even if it was only on the patio and at the pools. The unit was spectacular, it was a fabulous experience overall! We look forward to our next stay!

We had an excellent stay, in spite of two obstacles. First obstacle was our original location, and the fact that mold found. However, this was rectified, prior to our arrival, by the property management, with the offer of an upgrade, which we took! The second obstacle Was the tsunami. And, the need for temporary evacuation. However, the evacuation was brief. The communication with the property owners was excellent. And all in all, mother nature rules!

Best condo on the Big Island

We stayed at Hali'i Kai about 13 years ago and it was amazing, and that is why we chose to stay again. The units are well designed and very nice. Our unit (3D), was very comfortable and the pool and restaurant/bar by the pool were super. The location is perfect. Spend a few dollars more, and stay here!

Paradise In Paradise

The Big Island is already a beautiful, incredible, experience. But to have such a wonderful property as a base camp just makes it so much better. The property is gorgeous, and the unit itself is plenty large enough for the four of us to spread out and relax. Having everything we need ready for us contributed to what was a perfect vacation.

Wonderful Hawai'ian Vacation

Condo 3-D

Great condo! I recommend this condo to family members and friends. Our lovely accomodations were modern and comfortable with a nice tropical flair. The condo was situated so that the trade winds did not affect us while sitting on the balcony with our drinks and dinner enjoying the sunset. We enjoyed the workout area and pool in the morning before setting out for the day's activities.

Paradise in 3D!

Our stay in 3D at Hali'i Kai was exceptional. The condo was beautiful, spacious and fully equipped. This quiet upper floor end unit offered a wonderful golf course and partial ocean view off the lanai. The facilities at Hali'i Kai that include the pool and spa, workout area, bar and restaurant was a bonus; we enjoyed the amenities daily! The owner and property management were very helpful and great to work with. We highly recommend 3D and can't wait to return to the Big Island and stay here again.

The condo is absolutely stunning.The condo was exactly as advertised.The condo and surrounding property were very clean and very well-maintained.The oceanfront pool and exercise area were wonderful.The King's and Queen's markets meet most shopping needs.The owner and the Castle staff were great to work with. Should I find myself on the Big Island again, I would choose to rent Pam's condo. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Great value condo

They have all kinds of goodies there for renters, including spices and various tools if you wanted to cook a meal. We cooked about half of our dinners during our stay in the condo and ate outside on the deck. Love this place I will come back again in a heartbeat.

The condominium was clean and comfortable and well equipped with all of the necessities we might need while staying there. The Hawaii Life staff were easy to work with and fantastic in prompt responses to questions I had regarding my upcoming stay. I would not hesitate to book a rental via Hawaii Life again.

Yes!! Yes!! Yes!!

We had a wonderful 6 night 7 day stay at Pam’s condo. This unit was exceptionally clean and upscale. All the furnishings were fabulous and the beds in both bedrooms were extremely comfortable. The kitchen is completely outfitted with everything you would need. Loved the starter kit of coffee, tea, etc. Hawaii Life was excellent to work with and very responsive to our questions. The pool, restaurant were amazing and the food delish. We were so impressed. You can’t beat the view!! Thanks and we will be back!

Xmas 2019 Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location was awesome, the apartment was A1 with all those little things you need on holiday but never take. The cupboard containing the boogie boards, beach chairs, tennis gear etc was the icing on the cake and used every day. The onsite team were great and helped us with a courier delivery. The only thing was the communal pool was a little small for the amount of people over Xmas and not enough beds around this time.

Nice stay

Very nice condo. Unfortunately the dryer wasn't working while we were there, and there was no drying rack available (and hanging items on the lanai railing is a no no). The maintenance people did keep us posted and tried to fix, but unfortunately were not able to fix while we were there. While the condo sleeps 6, there are only 2 chairs on the lanai (kind of a pain, we dragged out the beach chairs for the second couple). With all that said, very nice condo with great pool area.

Hali’i Kai did not disappoint!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our dream vacation and it was incredible! The property was perfect for our needs. The pool was great and the views were unmatched! We had an amazing time watching whales and gorgeous sunsets. The location made it easy to go out and about during the day and come back and relax in the evening. My only complaint is that I’m allergic to fragrance so the sheets caused a reaction due to being washed in scented laundry detergent. The pillows were also extremely flat. Those two things did not diminish the incredible time our family had on the Big Island!

We had quite a time there! The condo is simply lovely an ever so comfortable, with the master suite and guest suite at opposite sides for the utter privacy of all the occupants. The whole resort is breath taking! The manicured everything... trees, edges, shrubs, flower beds, lawns, are a sight to behold. The Ocean Club was another fabulous experience with the whale watching from the swimming pool, hot tub, restaurant and bar... while very talented local entertainers charmed us all. We visited many of the gorgeous site beautiful Big Island has to offer, sampled some of the local delicacies, had a ball shopping and laughed ourselves silly at the sight of all the chickens running wild in the parking lot of the local Costco! Are glad to be home, but our visit at Hali'i Kai is still the main subject of conversation between us and the neighborhood friends.

Amazing Accommodations! My husband and I stayed in 3D for the first portion of our honeymoon. Everything we needed was right there at the condo, beach chairs, boogie boards, cooler and snorkel gear. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. The condo was beautiful and comfortable. We travel frequently and it is rare to find both. There is so much to do on The Big Island and it is not an overwhelmingly touristy area like some towns on other islands. The island and the condo offer the perfect balance of adventure and rest and relaxation. The condo had a gas grill and a Blu-ray player so on nights we didn't feel like going out we could rent a red box movie and eat dinner in. We traveled to three different islands on this trip and this was our favorite in regards to both accommodations and island. We will be going back and staying in 3D every year!

honeymooners return

We stayed in condo #3D on our honeymoon in 2013 and have returned. When we walked in the front door, we immediately noticed the new wood flooring in the living area. This was especially nice since we brought our 11 month old baby with us and his spills could be easily wiped. On the lanai, everything has been replaced: the table and chairs set and the BBQ grill. Since the Weber grill is the same model that we have back home, my husband decided to grill most of our meals. Our baby enjoyed the kiddy section of the Ocean Club pool, especially the squirting turtle. We purchased a baby float that had a shade because there is not much cover from the sun (our little guy doesn't like hats). Thanks again, Pam, for sharing your home with us. We hope to return again sometime.

Quiet, relaxing and updated.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've stayed at this property multiple times and each time it gets better. The owners clearly want you to feel like you're at home in a clean, quiet, relaxing and up to date unit. Some of the changes since our last visit include a new grill, new fans, new lanai furniture, new hardwood floors and our favorite, retractable (folding) wooden lanai doors. The weather was great during our visit with a breeze and low humidity most days. We walked throughout the resort almost every day and hiked through the craters at Volcano Park several times. Each evening we watched the sunset from the Ocean Club and we were able to enjoy the recently initiated Prime Rib night at the Club on Fridays.We're planning our return visit, looking forward to relaxing in this wonderful unit again.

Beautiful Location

We absolutely loved our stay in your unit! The place was very nice and clean. The patio with the indoor/outdoor living was perfect for letting the breeze in and enjoying the tropical view! The pool, gym and restaurant was also conveniently located. The unit was also stocked with all the beach essentials we needed, very convenient! THANK You! There was also an umbrella for the beach that came in handy for my mom who dislikes being in direct sun. The only negative is my 9 year old felt he couldn’t “truly” enjoy the pool. The staff commented to him several times to be quiet or not to do this and that. When in actuality he was just being a kid. We understand though since the majority of the people there are retirees and are there for peace and quiet. With that said, I think this location is ideal for real adult R&R and no so much for families with young kids. My husband and I can’t wait to go back for some adult time! Thank you!

Amazing Paradise!

My family and I stayed here for eight days and had a fabulous time! The owner Pam was so responsive to all my questions. The condo went beyond our expectations. There is a closet full of beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, board games, and more! Our last trip to Oahu we had to buy a boogie board and sand toys so this was a huge plus for us. The kitchen is well equipped for all of your needs. I did bring some Ziplock bags from the mainland for lunches and snacks on the beach. It was so nice to have two bedrooms with the living room and kitchen between as well as a full washer and dryer. We enjoyed many breakfasts on the balcony and enjoyed the view. The condo is in a gated community and was super safe. We went to the pool and enjoyed drinks and food at the Ocean Club while enjoying the beautiful sunset. It was great to have free wi-fi and air conditioning which we definitely used. I have already recommended this condo to all of our friends. A++++++! Thanks Pam!

A wonderful stay!

Our stay at the condo was wonderful. The complex was very quiet and the grounds were beautifully maintained. We felt very comfortable the minute we arrived. The entire staff were very friendly and offered information and advice for the entire island. The lanai overlooked a gorgeous golf course with a distant view of the ocean. The location was perfect. The Queen's Marketplace and King's Shops were close by and Kona was only about a 15 minute drive. We really enjoyed the beaches that were close by, with Beach 69 being one of our favorites (had good snorkeling). Any adults wanting to snorkel should probably stop and rent a set of snorkeling gear (or bring your own) as the gear we found at the condo was for small kids (we only found one adult mask that appeared to not have all of its parts!). The condo was otherwise very well equipped, we found everything we needed. We were delighted to watch fireworks one evening from the lanai as the Hotel next door had a fantastic display. The island was large so we didn't have time to see everything we wanted to, but hopefully we will return again soon and we would definitely stay at this condo again! We would like to thank the owners for sharing their wonderful condo!

Nice condo, beautiful view and loved privacy on lanai. However, like other reviewers we also wondered why not better and more seating on lanai. Other concerns we feel you should know about: no overhead lighting in extra bedroom, only one beach towel, TV was on when we arrived, only one bar soap and shampoo, and no extra toilet paper. So we went and bought these items. We also only had 3 wash cloths for a 10-day stay and no clarity on if there would be light cleaning and new linens. After 5 days, we received new linens, and an over abundance of toiletries and toilet paper. Not sure why those items weren't available from the start. Then we had cleaning staff come, while we were away, 2 other times as well as someone come to check the smoke alarms. Not too happy that this many people in and out with all of our belongings. We could see that a quick surface cleaning must occur between visitors, but a deep cleaning has not been done.
