A Super Spot
Great art and wonderful layout. Lots of room and well thought out. All those wide wide doors and windows bring the outside in. A great base to explore the area - I circumnatigated the Forgotten World highway and it was wonderful and a little terrifying. Super Hosts! Everything as described.

Our first impression was great! Amazing views!! However we were quite horrified at the lack of cleanliness (heavy dust, cobwebs and dead flies!!) 2 bedrooms with stunning seaviws were lovely but the 3rd room/laundry wasnt great! The water pump is loud and starts up throughout the night (when any water is used at all toilet etc)! Didnt get much sleep! Outdoor furniture was dated and tatty (the sofa!) Would recommend loungers & or beanbags for more comfort outdoors Loved the kitchen & big island for food preparation..

Wonderful Black Sea Cottage
We loved our week at Sybille’s spacious home overlooking the Tasman Sea. The property is exactly as shown in the photos, and has all the amenities for a great stay. Sybille was so easy to get ahold of and was quick solving any questions we had. Anyone thinking about staying in the Waiiti area would not be disappointed staying here.

Paradise found.
The beach house excelled our expectations. The photos do not lie, as it is picture perfect set up on the cliffs looking out over the Tasman sea. The open plan living area was light and airy, as two of the walls were sliding windows allowing a wonderful indoor outdoor flow. The kitchen was excellently equipped, with every cooking utensil or machine you may require, including a Nespresso! The bedrooms were airy and light. The bathroom had louver windows allowing you to shower with a view. We had exceptional wearher so did not spend much time inside but enjoyed the extensive library and got back into playing scrabble. The scenery is breath taking but frustrating as the sea is just meters away yet the spectacular cliff's makes it inaccessible...perhaps it should be renamed, more romantically, the Cliff House Loved every minute of our stay.....paradise found on the Whitecliffs of North Taranaki.

House is well equipped, had everything we needed, and is very comfortable. There were only 3 of us but there is lots of space for a larger group. Great place to base yourself when exploring the New Plymouth area. Hosts were easy to communicate with and gave clear instructions. We had stunning weather and enjoyed the views and sunsets. Great house and great host!
Pictures don't do it justice. House is gorgeous and perfect fit for a relaxing vacation. The view is breathtaking. We didn't feel a lack of anything while we were there. Many beaches short drive away. Supernarket, cafes, etc.. are also just a short drive away. We also had a special situation where we accidentally left some documents behind. The host went above and beyond to help us get the documents back so we didn't have to make a 8+ hiur. Really appreciate her responsiveness, kindness and generosity. If we ever make it back to the area, this is where we are staying.

Felt like home but with sea views
Thank you Sibylle & Andrew for providing us with this amazing property to stay in, it was just the ticket. As soon as we drove up we relaxed and couldn't wait to get out and check out the views, lucky for us the sun was out. The house was perfect for relaxing and rejuvinating after a stressful year. It may have been 30 mins from New Plymouth, but it is definitely worth it and the drive into town is lovely. We also checked out Wai iti Beach, just perfect and would love to visit again in the Summer. We highly recommend this property. Cheers Trish and David

That house and location is amazing. The views are to die for and regardless of the weather it was beautiful 24/7. The quiet location is a beautiful break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Black Sea Cottage is an ideal spot for a getaway, with wonderful views of the Tasman Sea and Mt Taranaki. The house is beautiful, and comfortably furnished, with books, dvds and everything needed for a cosy stay even in bad weather. Our stay was blessed with perfect weather, and superb sunsets. The hosts are charming; Sibylle could not have been more friendly and helpful. I could not rate this property more highly.

A Wonderful spot for a family get together coming from different regions . The kitchen had everything we needed for a family gathering. Gorgeous Views and Beautiful Bach
What an absolute gem! Just 30 min from New Plymouth and with gorgeous ocean views, this comfortable bach has lots of space and is kitted out with everything one could possibly want. Great Wifi connection, quality linens, fully stocked kitchen, and easy directions from the welcoming hosts. We were surprised with a bottle of bubbly and delicious choclolates too- what a treat! We highly recommend and hope to return again!

We could not rate this house any better. The directions from the host were super clear and easy to follow. The views from every room were beyond our expectations and everything was of fine quality and standard. When the host said to just bring our own food they really ment it. From the finest quality bedding to the fully equipped kitchen with everything you could ever need! Was the most lovely stay and we will most definitely be back. The kids enjoyed waking up in the morning and seeing the cows and rabbits running around. The stay was throughly enjoyed by all!

We had such a great stay here as a family. Loved this holiday home. The open plan living /dinning/ kitchen area with view of sea and Mt Taranaki was a great place to relax for us all. The living area flows onto a deck and garden which the kids enjoyed playing in. Well set up with linen, out door dinning, BBQ, games and great warm outdoor shower. Very lovely welcome card and gift waiting for us on arrival. Hosts were great at communication before our stay and very accommodating. House in few min drive from Waiiti beach and cafe. Location a little isolated so need to drive anywhere for activities (walks/beach/shops etc).

Wonderful Weekend at Black Sand Cottage
We had an amazing time at this property. It has everything you could want and more. The view is amazing, and is from every room. It was so relaxing sitting on the deck and soaking up the view, and then to come inside and appreciate all the stunning artwork. The house is very well set up and comfortable. We’ll be back again.

A surreal property. We spent hours taking in the view and relaxing! Really well equipped kitchen and house in general. The photos seriously don’t do this place justice- we recommend sleeping with the blinds up and checking out the incredible star gazing from the comfort of bed! Will be back! Thanks for having us :)

Gorgeous Place with Stunning Views!
We stayed for three nights in winter and had a wonderful stay. We would wake up and have coffee in bed with amazing views of the ocean. The location is amazing, with 180 degree views. The weather was cold but the double glazing and gas fire meant the place was toasty. The beds were comfy, the place was spotless, the kitchen was well equipped, we had everything we needed. Sibylle and Andrew were excellent hosts who were very quick to respond and provided lots of helpful detail. Would definitely stay again.

Magical place
An incredible property! We absolutely loved our stay, the view is phenomenal and I couldn’t rave enough about it - truly mesmerising! Great communication from the hosts and the house was spotless and the chilled bubbles in the fridge was a lovely surprise. We can’t wait to stay again.
