Aloha!! We would love to welcome you into paradise. This quiet unit is located on the secluded West side of Oahu. This condo is protected by 24 hour security to insure you have safe and relaxing stay! This area is known for its incredible mountains, pristine uncrowded beaches and a real local experience. This condo is just 1 mile from the famous Makaha Surfing beach, just 20 minutes from the Disney Resort at Ko Olina, just 1 hour from the famous Waikiki Beach and 1 hour from the North Shore Of Oahu. There are many famous hikes surrounding this area, ask me if you have any questions! My husband and I have a surf school on the North Shore and if you book a surf lesson with us you get 25% off. The view was as incredible as claimed and all the staff were nice and helpful and made you feel secure. We had wi-fi problems and the host was not on the island at the time or would have likely been 5 stars but overall it was a great value and we'd stay again.

We had a great stay at Makaha Valley Towers. We loved the secluded location and the ocean/mountain views. The pool and BBQ area were lovely and the host was kind and easy to deal with. There was a slight mix up with security at check in, but our host handled it quickly. The unit could use some additional lighting and the shower needed a good scrub down but otherwise we were very happy. We would definitely stay here again!

Great views, nice pool and bbq area, gardens kept beautifully, secure gated apartment block. Interior tired but clean. Definitely need a car if staying here as is a way from the beach and a ling way from any of Hawaiis tourist attractions. Also no shops for food nearbt, need to drive or bus for those. There is a bus that terminates at the towers so can take that aling the coast. If you cone from a british influenced country (we are from New Zealand) be aware there's no electric jug or toaster. Or teaspoons. Definitely bring your own tea and coffee and milk.

We enjoyed our stay. We wanted to explore the west side of the island since this was our second time visiting Oahu. As others mentioned, the unit could use some work but it was as described/seen in the photos. The towels had a bit of a smell and some lights need to be replaced but the bed was very comfortable and the views were amazing. My biggest issue was the cleanliness—there were long black hairs everywhere that did not belong to myself or my spouse. Overall I’d still definitely recommend staying here—good value, the location is beautiful, the pool is great, and the host is very responsive and accommodating

Things that needed to be taken care of: Need more light in main living area, lights too dim Light over kitchen sink needs replaced…hardly worked at all Need better selection of dishes and cookware, especially those that can be used in microwave Like larger sauce pan A non stock fry pan that is not peeling A can opener in drawer Soap dish in shower not big enough to hold even a small bar of soap Although we knew we would be far from Windward side, we weren’t prepared for lack of restaurants and better shopping.’ It was relaxing but we did not stay at condo during days as we wanted activities.

The unit was quite outdated and parts of it were pretty dirty. It looked like a quick surface clean was done but it could use a good scrub. Had some issues with the water draining but we used the bathroom sink to wash dishes. We did not re rive access code until the day we were leaving to fly it which was a little concerning. The bed was comfortable and the pool was heated which was great. The condo board takes great care of the grounds. The view was spectacular, best New Years fireworks viewing. All in all I give the unit 3 stars but the complex and the view 5 stars.

It was the only option I found to stay in my favorite place. Five days at your price was a monthly rate!! No drawer or shelf space for my things. Finally found some wash cloths in the living room too late to use. Perhaps there were kitchen towels and pot holders too.?? I had burned my finger using paper towels.The unit is great but an accumulation of 40 years of dirt left a lot to be desired.If Vanessa is interested, Marvin could rehabilitate the super spot!!Sorry for my assessment but perhaps your next guests will give a good review or find a better option.

Peaceful but wouldn’t stay again

It’s nice to have a “cheaper” option on the island, but I’d pay a bit more and stay elsewhere. Pros: grounds are lovely and staff are kind, amazing view, quiet, very few people at the pool, this side of the island is less overrun by people and the beaches are really nice. Cons: dirty and run down condo, lots of cockroaches and ants in condo, bad lighting and broken lamps, kitchen isn’t stocked or ready for cooking (and you wouldn’t want to store food there anyways because of all the cockroaches in the fridge and freezer), dishes in cupboard were dirty, thick layer of dust on decor, host doesn’t communicate with the condo management ahead of time and so you have to wait at security for them to get ahold of the owner before you can enter, bright outdoor walkway lights stay on all night so the condo never really gets dark, fridge clicks and makes noises all night (maybe the cockroaches in the fridge fan/cooling area??).

Badly needs an update and cleaning

This is the 4th time my wife and I have stayed at the Makaha Valley Towers for an extended stay (3-4 weeks) and we love the Towers complex. It’s close to the beach and the balconies offer a panoramic view of the ocean, mountains and valley. The heated pool is wonderful. However the condo we rented this time has not been updated or properly cleaned. There is mold and mildew in the tub area, the bed is very uncomfortable and the cabinetry is in disrepair. The light over the sink does not work. There are very few kitchen utensils. We were plagued with small flying bugs. We had to submit a work order to fix the AC unit that was leaking all over the bathroom ceiling and floor. The handle on the oven door is broken. We do plan to stay again at the Towers but we will not rent this unit ever again.

Pro: View! Absolutely stunning to wake up to. Cons: 1. No soap in shower, we had just done a sunset hike before checking in and when we arrived to settle in there was no soap in the shower.. 2. Old building: outdated/scary elevator, thermostat in room has no instructions and was hard to figure out how to adjust, toilet drain very loud and refrigerator made clicking noises throughout the night 3. WiFi information provided was not listed as available options so were unable to connect for duration of stay, tv was connected to WiFi so also unable to watch show/movie at end of day 4. Pictures shown online were not appliances in room, bed and headboard were not connected so every time you turned in your sleep it would make noise 5. Lamps were broken 6. No pool key provided 7. Great location, but condo in need of TLC

We were so impressed driving up to the towers when we arrived. The landscaping and the peacocks, it is very beautiful. Unfortunately when we entered the condo, it was a bit of a downer. The AC was switched on, but we had to stop it immediately because of the very moldy smell coming from it. It does not look like that the kitchen and the bathroom ever got a makeover since the towers got constructed, so everything should be replaced. The kitchen is not even equipped with essentials, no can opener, no big bowl to make a salad. We bought spices and coffee, we never had to buy these before. No dresser available to empty the suitcase, and the existing closet is full of other stuff. We had to sweep the floors first, because of leftovers from the previous guests. We certainly feel that this place does not qualify as an VRBO place according to its condition. As mentioned before, the landscaping including pool and the BBQ setup in the common area is great, the rest is not.

Makaha Valley

We enjoyed our first few nights in Hawaii in the Makaha Valley. We were a bit surprised it was a gated 10 (?) story complex, but it turned out fine. The ocean view was fabulous. The buildings were tucked up against the mountains. The foliage, palms, tiki torches and pool gave out a classic Hawaiian vibe, very well received after arriving from the bitter cold of Chicago. The vrbo met our needs well, as we basically just wanted a nice place to go home to after a day of touring.There were a few deficits, however. 1. There was no coffee (that we could find) even though there was a coffee maker. This wouldn't have been so bad, except we were 20 minutes away from a grocery or a coffee shop. 2. No wine glasses. 3. You have to register your car at the office (with a 100 cash returnable deposit), so be prepared for that. 4. The bathroom was a little rough around the edges. It was clean though.5. There weren't very many towels. 6. Kitchen cupboards were a bit hap-hazard.With all this said, it was a nice place in a beautiful setting. Great to go to in the late afternoon and have a glass of wine on the balcony as the sun set. Also, there was a beautiful morning chorus of birds singing at dawn. Lots of peacocks and roosters in the property. It added charm.

I very much enjoyed using this as a "home base" during my week on Oahu. If it seems a little "off to the side," Oahu's big, but not that big. The *furthest* point form the unit, the Northeast of the island, was only two hours away. And the driving views every where... gorgeous. The unit itself was clean, Ms. Bruneau was easy to connect with, and the place was secure. Wondered whether my car would get broken into at some places I visited on the island, but not in the Makaha Valley complex. The security staff are front and present at the entry/exit gate. I got a "hello" and "goodbye" every time I traveled past them. There's no *dedicated* parking spot, so every time I left I had to look for a space when I returned, but I didn't once have to slog from "too far" away. Oh, and they asked for a cash deposit for the parking pass. It's plastic and they want it back. I got my C-note back when I turned it in. The unit's all glass on the outside wall, with blackout curtains if the sun's too bright. Chairs on the balcony are comfortable. TV's got cable, and the unit has working wifi. The kitchenette's fully stocked; no need to buy dishes, glasses, or flatware. Complex has gas grills for anyone to use, so if you're into buying fresh food and grilling it yourself, it's easily doable. Pool's nice too. Surf warnings were in effect most of my stay, and the pool made swimming possible. It's well maintained. If anything, the owners *undersell* this place, in my opinion.

Nice view but don't look at the room

First: the view from the balcony is just what the pictures show, and the owner responded very quickly to phone calls and texts. The price was much lower than other places we considered, and that seemed to be a good thing. However there seems to be a kind of carelessness about the owner's approach to the property and the rental. The gate attendant did not have the necessary notice that we were coming (other former renters have reported similar challenges). The door knob fell off in my hand (we got into the room about 40 minutes later because of Bill, an incredibly helpful person that the host called) and we walked into a space that was cluttered, grimy and haphazard. Broken oven door, inadequate and unwashed kitchen items, papers and detritus bulging out of every drawer and closet, miserable mattress, dirty bathroom. The on site laundry facilities needed a card which was not provided (Bill graciously gave us one to use). That view was gorgeous! But the area all around has an air of exhaustion and poverty. Not many restaurants or coffee places. Many tents and shanties. Warnings not to leave anything in a locked car if you stop at a beach area. Beach areas full of trash. It became clear to us very quickly that got what we paid for. I would not choose this place again.

Overall my experience was very good. If you’re an older couple who want somewhere to relax it is probably the perfect spot with the mountain view on one side and the valley view on the other. For someone younger the towers are a decent distance from anything like bars or karaoke and the roads that lead to town don’t have shoulders so walking is not a good idea. I know because I walked the nearly five miles to Lanterns bar for karaoke and nearly got hit once. You will definitely need a rental car to do anything. The room had a comfortable full bed with a four inch memory foam top. The add says the condo sleeps three, but unless you have a small kid to sleep on the loveseat you probably should plan on two. Despite being small the loveseat was exceedingly comfortable though. I can’t say that my experience was quiet and serene because all three days they were cutting and wood chipping trees around the condo most of the morning and afternoon, but since that was not controllable by the people I rented I just attributed it to the necessity of keeping the area pristine. I wouldn’t expect the noise to be something other people should expect on a routine basis. I also turned the A/C the entire time and kept the glass doors on the balcony open so I could have probably isolated much of the noise. If you love peacocks their everywhere around the condo. I got some amazing photos of them.
