"We had a very good 2 night stay at Le Grand Hôtel de l'Espérance in Lisieux. The room was basic but very clean and practical. They still provided a kettle and tea and coffee. A mini fridge would have been nice though. The bathroom had shower only but it had a good amount of storage space. We had one dinner in their restaurant which was good and good value for money. The service was good and efficient, even though the restaurant was full and only one person serving. The breakfast was excellent. They had 2 Camembert style cheeses, Emmental, spicy sausages as the hot option, hard boiled eggs, good quality cold cooked ham, good grilled ham, yoghurt, croissants, 2 types of homemade cake, fruit salad, and one of the best apple pies we have ever eaten. The selection was constantly replenished. The people at the reception very friendly and professional. If we were to visit Lisieux again, we would stay there again."

"A nice clean hotel, room was on the small side but adequate. Parking was the most expensive I’ve ever paid. Good choice for breakfast and everything very fresh. Someone who could speak English on reception would have been a help for us ignorant brits"

"Our check-in process was fantastic. Friendly and knowledgable team members which was a great start to the stay. The room was fantastic, everything had been thought of (utensils, welcome pack with basic cleaning supplies, kitchen appliances). The pool was incredible, a little dated (a couple of interactive features did not work, and they did not turn on the water features until we were out and ready to leave), but such a relaxing change of pace to other family parks we have experiences. The outdoor pool area was welcomed by our two children too, being warmed too was an excellent addition. The on site shop has selected opening times, something to bear in mind if you’re relying on it for anything. The children’s area is superb, we could have spent everyday of our stay all day here! So overall, we’re very happy with our stay and already looking ahead to our return visit!"
