A wonderful stay. Great room. Fantastic staff. The safaris were great.
The only disappointment was the food.
For what we were paying a night , we had expected better quality and a better selection of food.
This Is What High-End Travel Looks Like:
Three nights. Two-bedroom tent. Everything you’d expect from a luxury safari lodge—and then some.
Big M was our guide. He read it perfectly from the start: three colleagues, pure friend energy, ready for adventure. No weird assumptions, no stiffness. Just ease.
He was determined to find things for us. One afternoon, someone spotted a leopard in the park. Big M came knocking on our door—we weren’t even planning to go out—and grabbed us. We found that leopard twice.
But here’s the moment: we wanted to dance to Taylor Swift. (And these are guys from Zim! ) Not easy in the middle of the Zambezi. Big M made it happen. Land Rover in the rain, a bar in town, the four of us dancing under the lights. Business trip. Pure joy. Opalite all the way. Most wholesome adventure I’ve had in years.
Other people can talk about the beautiful furnishings and the cold beer when you want it. This is relational hospitality at its finest.
PS: don’t be scared of being in a place where you cannot go out at night alone for wildlife safety reasons. They know what they’re doing and the sounds are glorious. Yeah, seeing a leopard and a lion in the same day from meters away will fire your fight or flight response. So do jumping jacks bedside and fall asleep to the sounds of the crickets. And the hippos.
There are not enough good things written about this property on the internet. Staying in one of the Island Treehouses was one of the single most incredible and unique experiences for this lifetime traveller. I'm so glad we ended up here on a whim. Cheers to the warm and wonderful staff for making our trip special and here's to this place finding the audience it deserves.
We were a little disappointed that inspite of highlighting that we were coming for my partner's birthday, the resort did not make any effort, let alone acknowledge it !
Oh my goodness what a pleasure it was to stay here at Victoria Falls River Lodge. Even the smallest of details was taken care of and the food was magnificent. I would highly recommend (and have done so already) this beautiful lodge to anyone looking for a luxury escape along the beautiful Zambezi River.
The staff were so accommodating and there to assist whenever required. I only spent two nights here and really didn't want to leave. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable and I look forward to staying here again in the near future :)
This hotel was great from arrival to departure and would definitely recommend.
You arrive by boat to an warm welcome from staff including the manager on duty. The rooms are well appointed with a private pool for each room, comfortable beds and the most amazing view of the Zambezi river. The lodge is not fenced so the chance of being greeted by monkeys or warthogs with your morning coffee if highly likely.
The staff are so helpful and lovely making your stay all that much more enjoyable. The food is great quality and in abundance.
Game drives or river cruises are offered twice a day and we saw a variety of game each time we went out. This lodge was a great experience for our first time to Zimbabwe and we would definitely recommend.
From the arrival and greeting in the outdoor reception to our tented room by the river, it was a “wow” experience.
With more food than a normal human can consume, non stop gin and tonic, excellent game drives and the experience of elephants playing in the river just by our deck, this was a lovely 3 nights
What a great 2 nights my partner and I had in Victoria Falls River Lodge
The rooms, the food and the service were incredible. Thank you to Nofias,White, Kudus, Precious, Joshua and every other member of your staff whom I cant recall at this time for making us feel at home
The Victoria Falls River Lodge is a really special place. The lodge and accommodations are very luxurious - the staff is lovely - and the setting is so peaceful. We had a wonderful time there.
Lodge staff are great, service is very personalized. Zimbabwean people are great and very hospitable. Great location of lodge with awsome game drives as you are right in the national park. We saw a ton of animals many just roaming the lodge grounds.
