Phelps fishing party

Worked out great for us

Had nearly everything we needed for a two night stay for a fishing trip. It does need a baking sheet for cooking in the oven, and the deck could use some chairs for enjoying outside. I would atay here again for my next fishing trip.

Great for a 4 day fishing trip

The house boat wasn't fancy, but was all we needed for a group of 3 on a 4 day fishing trip. We docked a 19 foot boat out front and parked the truck and trailer next to each other out front. The ice machine appeared to be turned on and was empty, but after i pushed the power button, it started making ice. I would rent this place again.

Fishing getaway

Great location. GPS leads you to a location a little shy of the actual address. Must follow the map provided. Was perfect for fishing. Could have used some toilet paper, 🤨 better phone service and WiFi.

Location was great for our fishing! We would stay again. No phone number for host in case we had any problems, but didn't have any, so all worked out well. The email sent had just x's where the contact number went.

This was a cozy place. Nice location and A/C will freeze you out. But when it’s 103 heat index. It felt good. I liked being able to back my truck up to the house boat. Made unloading ver easy We will be back. Thanks again

Amazing House Boat !!

The communication with the host was great. This was a perfect house boat with outside docking for 2 boats that exceeded my expectations. We were comfortably able to call this place a second home. Only negatives, there weren’t enough pots, and baking sheets, and ice machine wasn’t producing ice. If you decide to stay here pack a few kitchen items and pick up ice before at the Dollar General. Other than that, I would 100% stay here again.

You need to make the phone number of the host available. It was impossible to reach anyone by phone

Nice place and we’ll situated but was hard to reach the host when we had a few problems and change of dates. Phone numbers should be provided to reach in the case of problems

Great location - poor management

Start with the good - fabulous location if you want to fish the Venice Area, you can park right in front and don't have to walk down a long dock. Great neighbors own the houseboat next door, very friendly and helpful. The little houseboat was clean, it would have been way, to full for 8+ people, our group of three got crowded in the kitchen. The challenges... the ice machine would not make ice, the electronic backdoor lock would not work (low battery) so we couldn't lock the back door and get on the boat and go. The back door handle was barely held on by an aftermarket screw, that failed and fell off. We placed another screw into it just to make it functional. Better not bring a big boat or you will not be able to park on the houseboat if the neighbor is there. The big challenge is communication, i messaged the management prior to our trip that they did not include a phone number on any of their messages, received no response back. They didn't know where i could park the boat trailer, thankfully the dock guys did tell us about a lot near the houseboat. When i sent a message about the lock situation at check in....it took three days to get to get a response and the response was contact the number on back of the front door. Well, the information sheet on the back of the door, didn't say that...only to text upon departure. I have never had non responsive or poor property management with VRBO before and doesn't reflect well or make me want to rent next year..
