The best areas to stay in Velence are along the shores of Lake Velence, particularly around the Velence Korzó and the more residential areas offering direct lake access.

The Velence Korzó area is the main attraction, a lively promenade right by the lake. Here, you'll find a wide selection of restaurants, cafes, and shops, as well as the popular public beach. It's an excellent base for those who enjoy being at the heart of the activity, with easy access to water sports and lakeside strolls.

Families often find the Velence Korzó area particularly appealing due to the abundance of amenities and activities. The public beach offers shallow waters suitable for children, and there are often playgrounds and entertainment options nearby. Hotels and apartments in this vicinity often have family-friendly facilities, making it convenient for a holiday with children.

For those seeking a more tranquil experience with direct access to the lake, the areas slightly east and west of the Korzó, extending along the shoreline, are ideal. These parts are generally quieter and offer private holiday homes or guesthouses, many with their own jetties or private beach access.

The best time to go to Velence is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is warm and ideal for enjoying Lake Velence.

During these months, you'll find the lake at its most inviting for swimming, sailing, and other water sports. The surrounding areas also come alive with outdoor activities and events. Temperatures typically range from pleasant highs of 25-30°C, great for leisurely days by the water or exploring the local area.

Couples often find this period ideal for a romantic getaway, with opportunities for lakeside dining, charming walks along the shore, and enjoying the longer daylight hours. Many of the lakeside guesthouses and hotels offer facilities geared towards relaxation, making it easy to unwind together.

Families will also particularly enjoy Velence in the summer. The shallow, warm waters of Lake Velence are excellent for children, and there are numerous playgrounds and family-friendly activities available.
