VRBO and Vail Spa have a communication problem

Nice unit and great location for us. The Manager at Vail Spa is a nice guy and very accommodating. But, via VRBO, booked a sunny unit on the 5th floor with big views of the ski mountain. Upon arrival, we were relegated to a basement unit near the pool equipment. I was told that Vail Spa has issues with VRBO and couldn’t guarantee the unit I specifically booked. There was no indication on VRBO that this could happen. Additionally there was a lot of confusion with the billing. VRBO doesn’t communicate well with them. VRBO only billed me for their fee and not for the lodging itself. Vail Spa kept asking me for my Cc info, but typically all billing goes thru VRBO so it was all very confusing and frankly a pain in the ass. And of course good luck getting anyone on the phone from VRBO. And their chat bot help line is useless. So my recommendation is to book directly with Vail Spa Condominiums. As for Vail Spa management, you know you have a problem with VRBO, so stop listing with them!
