"We were scheduled to spend one night. Weather stranded us in Westport for an extra two nights as all roads to the east side of the South Island were closed. Charles, Jackie and Fran treated us like family making us feel at home. It was a memorable stay in a very nicely restored house of a bygone era with an impressive collection of art and artifacts. "

"The whole experience was great. As soon as we drove into the site we could see that it was modern and spacious. Even though there were only 2 of us, we were given a 2 bedroom apartment which was huge. The kitchen was very well equipped, the lounge was large, the bed was a super king and the shower was excellent. Ample parking."

"It was a great little getaway, and we could imagine in summer it would be even nicer being able to enjoy the outdoor picnic spots by the pond. We arrived late in the day and were quite peckish, so enjoying a beautiful fresh loaf of bread, butter and cheese that greeted us when we arrived was lovely - along with a bottle of wine for later and a ginger beer for our young one. Even though we came in winter, the West Coast scenery and atmosphere never disappoints, and the house was lovely and cosey all through the night. It was also great to feed Frank the eel each morning - we were sad to say bye to him too!"

"We had the most restful stay in this cute retro bach. Everything we needed was provided. Adored the outdoor fire and bath. The covered outdoor eating area was perfect for rainy day dining. Extremely cosy indoors with fire. Even managed a wave from the train driver passing by!!!!!Highly recommend for a getaway. "
