"The building is a nice example of 1930s style and architecture, but it shows serious signs of wear and tear in the hallways and in the rooms. The rooms are modest at best. The "fitness center" is basically none existent, the staff isn't very knowledgeable of the local area, I waited for 20mins at valet to drop off my vehicle when I arrived, the breakfast buffet was cancelled some time ago, but they still advertise it as an offering... needless to say it is very overpriced for what they're actually offering. "

"The room was clean but we did not have a curtain on our window, just a screen so it was very bright at night. The hotel staff claimed that was typical for this hotel but I’ve never had a hotel room without a curtain. We ended up hanging up a blanket so we could sleep. "Very friendly and attentive staff who were happy to store my bag and would say good morning and welcome me back by name, which was nice. I didn't spend much time in the hotel, but the room was clean and overall I had a fine experience. The room doesn't have a microwave, and there's no bottled water or water station, but I didn't find it to be a big deal. The location is decent and I felt safe enough returning at night, but I did keep the shades closed because my room was on a low floor visible from the street."

"Fairly smooth registration. Hotel is large but is very dated. The phone in my room did not work. I informed staff and they told me it would be fixed. That never happened. I also mentioned the bathroom door was broken and would not lock. I was told maintenance would repair. Again, no results. The following morning, hotel lost hot water due to issues with their hot water heater. I couldn't call them to ask of the issue, as my phone was broken therefore, had to physically travel down to the lobby to inquire of the issue. Several other patrons complained however, staff could not provide a timetable for when repairs would be made. Several staff members tried to empathize however, others could not be bothered. Instead of reimbursement, I was offered "quick bucks" for a future stay, but I do not plan to stay there ever again. I am disappointed with Expedia and plan to broadcast this further. "
