Lovely cottage on the beautiful village square of Chittlehampton

Located on the square of the charming village of Chittlehampton in North Devon, Lychgate Cottage is a great holiday base for those wanting to experience a slice of village life. This terraced cottage has been renovated to a very good standard by the owners. Well-appointed and furnished throughout, the cottage is a great place to return to after a busy day of sightseeing or coping with the hectic pace of village life! Being located on the square means the good local pub and community run shop are all within easy walking distance. The village church that towers over the square also makes for an imposing sight. The cottage boasts an open plan downstairs with wooden floors and a well equipped kitchen (completely refitted in January 2021) together with comfortable dining and sitting areas. The first floor has a recently refitted shower room and has two double bedrooms.
Free parking is available in the square just outside the cottage.
The cottage has been offered for rent as a holiday cottage with cottages.com since July 2014, achieving an average customer rating in excess of 9.5/10 for each of the seasons from 2015 to 2020. Achieving a Customer's Choice award for this period.

Lovely cottage in great location
Very nice little cottage in the heart of the lovely village of Chittlehampton. Close to the local Pub and shop makes this cottage a great place to stay. Good communication from the owner, with effortless check in process. Highly recommended.

Outstanding cottage, fully equipped including a bottle of fizz & milk. Miguel (owner)always responded very quickly. The area of chittlehampton is just delightful, with a village shop offering everything you could desire, so no need to go to the supermarket. The cottage itself is just so comfortable & relaxing, I truly didn't want to leave, I just feel in love. Absolutely beautiful stay & looking at my next stay ❣️

Cosy and comfortable base
We stayed in early March whilst visiting family. The cottage was ideal - small but perfectly formed. It had everything we could possibly need and provided a warm and comfortable base.It's located on the village square, which provides ample parking. The communication with Miguel was great and the information supplied was excellent. We had a meal in The Bell ph, which is located on the opposite side of the village square. The pub is very welcoming and provides super food at a very reasonable price. An excellent stay all round. Thank you Miguel.

Chittlehampton Escape
We returned to this property again after a short stay last year.The village is very friendly and the local pub is a must the owners are very nice.A small shop in the village sells local produce and is also a post office.A half our drive takes you to the beach and local attractions.All in all we had a very relaxing time.The cottage is well equipped and comfortable.

Great location in town square of a quaint village
A lovely place to stay in a quaint rural village. We really enjoyed the property and being on the town square with a really fabulously run and family owned pub across the square. The place was clean, good size rooms and all that you needed. Id definitely book again
