The Bartlett: A Premium Log Cabin Retreat at the Base of Mt. Elbert

Experience all the beauty that Twin Lakes has to offer. The Bartlett is a premium three-bedroom, three-bathroom log cabin perched at 9,500 feet at the base of Mt. Elbert, Colorado's highest peak. Set on a private one-acre lot and a short walk from the historic Twin Lakes Village, the property is surrounded by towering pines and a tranquil aspen grove. Spectacular views of Twin Lakes and the surrounding Rockies set the backdrop for cozy rustic furnishings, a wood-burning stone fireplace, and a copper soaking tub. The Bartlett is your perfect Colorado mountain escape.

The Space

Sleeping up to six guests in three beautifully appointed bedrooms, The Bartlett blends classic log cabin charm with modern comfort. Vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows fill the main living area with natural light and frame uninterrupted views of Twin Lakes and the surrounding peaks. The stone wood-burning fireplace anchors the living room. Perfect for unwinding after a day on the trails. The chef's kitchen comes fully equipped and opens onto a dining area built for long meals with family and friends.

The primary bedroom on the second floor, includes a private balcony and a private bathroom. The main floor bedroom features its own en-suite bath with a copper soaking tub, a true cabin luxury. The walkout basement includes a third bedroom and bathroom. The basement den adds an entertainment center and a gas fireplace, ideal for movie nights or letting the kids spread out.

The Outdoors

The wraparound deck is the heart of the property. Soak in the private hot tub under an aspen canopy by day, or take in some of the darkest, most star-filled skies in Colorado by night. The Bartlett comes with a 4-car garage, The Barn, perfect for storing skis, bikes, ATVs, and gear, or simply keeping your vehicle out of the snow.

The Location

Twin Lakes is one of Colorado's best-kept secrets, a tiny historic mining village nestled in the San Isabel National Forest, surrounded by 14,000-foot peaks and two stunning alpine lakes.

From The Bartlett, you can:

- Hike Mt. Elbert (14,440 ft) — the highest peak in the Rockies — minutes from the cabin
- Fish, kayak, or paddleboard on Twin Lakes
- Drive the legendary Independence Pass to Aspen (about 35–40 minutes, seasonal)

The Bartlett was an incredible property for a romantic getaway. We were looking for something quiet away from the resort towns and Twin Lakes was perfect. The house has an elevated cozy cabin feel. The bed was very comfortable and helped us catch up on much needed rest. The best part is that no matter where you are in the house, you have an incredible view of the lakes, mountains, and wildlife. We spent hours reading and talking out on the deck and looking at the stars from the hot tub.The location is amazing. Aspen is 45 minutes away over Independence Pass - one of the most scenic drives we have ever done. There is no shortage of hikes either around Twin Lakes or right out the front door.Sebastian and Krista were great with communication. I really liked the detailed property guide because it limited having to run to the app so we could disconnect for a long weekend. There is so much to do and so much more relaxation to be had that we will have to come back for a longer stay!
