Ideal place for relaxing close to Etna

We had a wonderful stay at the Agriturismo Biologico dell'Etna. Michele and his wife were great hosts and he was always there to make sure that we have everything we need as well as giving suggestions on how to plan excursions. The place is ideal for relaxing in nature and visiting the areas surrounding the southern and eastern sides of Etna. Highly recommended.

Notte da incubo

Ho dormito solo una notte ma non vedevo l'ora di andarmene via..posto isolato e la struttura è fatiscente nel mezzo di sterpaglia!non c'era neanche la televisione in camera e la stanza era arredata con mobili vecchi e sporchi..non esiste alcun confort e tutto è trasandato e non curato!non consiglio a nessuno di soggiornarvi.

Hotel ótimo pra se visitar o Etna. Michele é uma pessoa sensacional. Explica tudo sobre qualquer lugar que queira ir. Quarto enorme. Box do banheiro um pouco apertado. Não tem televisão. Voltaria sem duvida

Eenvoudige agriturismo op het platteland

Eenvoudig maar netjes. Zeer kleine douche en badkamer. Eigenaren spreken geen Engels, waardoor converseren echt niet mogelijk is. Ze zijn echter wel heel hartelijk en met handen en voeten zijn we een heel end gekomen.

A total misrepresentation of their hotel

Save yourself a lot of grief and choose another place to stay. We looked forward to going to an unusual ecological experience and to talk with and be guided by an English-speaking Italian. It was the worst experience we have ever had as we were greeted by two non-English speaking octogenarians who could not relate anything to us that we asked. The property was large with overgrown and untended gardens. It was an ecological mess. The room was minuscule and depressing. Their English-speaking granddaughter who would not understand how her grandparents had advertised their home in the way they did. She was very nice and apologized for our inconvenience and our inability to communicate our needs (airport, car rental, ferry information, etc.). She thought their son put them up to it. We just couldn't stay there. It was too awful and depressing, We left on friendly terms after the convo with their granddaughter on the phone. We asked for a refund and they denied it. We were angrily disappointed after knowing that they totally misrepresented their property.

Sistemazione rilassante ai piedi dell'Etna

Il proprietario, molto ospitale, ci ha guidato nel fitto reticolo di strade fino a destinazione, e ci ha consigliato sulle possibili mete sul vulcano e nei dintorni. Un vero agriturismo con frutta biologica nel verde delle pendici dell'Etna.

Wir waren zunächst etwas irritiert über die etwas großzügigen, sehr sizilianischen Sauberekeitsmaßstäbe, dann aber um so glücklicher, vom Wirtsehepaar mit sehr viel Engagement mit Tipps und Verpflegung auf sehr unkomplizierte Art ausgestattet worden zu sein, die Katzen lassen zudem jedes Kinderherz höher schlagen, Tischtennis vorhanden und die Tomaten und Kiwis gibt es frisch aus dem Garten. Eine gute Adresse, um sich als Selbstversorger in der Nähe des Etna für nicht so viel Geld Urlaub zu machen. Empfehlenswert sind jedoch Auto und Italienischkenntnisse.

Perfect to visit Etna and the east coast of Sicily

This quaint agriturismo offers an ideal, practical and very cost effective solution for all those who want a base close to Etna and the surrounding towns and villages including, Catania, Aci Reale, Siracusa etc. It offers nice, ground floor, spacious accommodation in a rural area. However the best thing about our experience was meeting the owner (the host) Michaele. He is a true gentleman. He made use feel comfortable, bought us fresh croissants every morning and helped us to plan out daily car tours around Sicily like a pro. This is not just another vacation rental. This is an unforgettable experience in itself. Highly recommended.

Excellent accueil et beaucoup de renseignements donnés. Chambre à l'ancienne, cuisine un peu encombrée ! Il manquait des laitages et du jus de fruits pour le petit-déjeuner, mais nous étions à proximité de l'Etna, magnifique !!

Nicht zu empfehlen

Wir waren im September für eine Nacht in diesem Agriturismo. Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich, kann aber kein Englisch und hat Italienisch mit uns gesprochen, obwohl wir kein Wort verstanden haben. Das Zimmer roch sehr muffig, auch das Bett und die Bettwäsche rochen muffig. Sauberkeit von Zimmer und Bad ließen ebenfalls zu wünschen übrig. Das Frühstück kann als solches gar nicht bezeichnet werden: Eine Tasse Kaffee und ein süßes Stückchen. Insgesamt also eher nicht zu empfehlen.

Mycket information om Etna

Rummet var rent. Dörrarna till duschen hade dock sett sina bästa dagar. Madrasserna var hårda och det gemensamma köket behövde städas upp. Gamla saker stod kvar i skåpen från tidigare gäster. På baksidan av huset fanns en massa katter instängda på en altan, deras kattlåda var full så de börjat göra sina behov på den stenlagda altanen. Lukten var hemsk. Katterna var dessutom magra och en saknade nästan all sin päls. Han som drev stället var vänlig och försökte vara hjälpsam även då han inte förstod eller pratade engelska. Det fanns mycket information om Etna i köket. Hotellets läge var helt ok om man reste med bil vilket vi gjorde.

Très bon séjour

Très bon accueil du propriétaire qui nous a donné plein d'infos (en italien uniquement) sur la visite de l'Etna et ses environs. On a même eu un bon de 20% pour le téléphérique de l'Etna. Le petit dej n'était pas très copieux (juste café/thé + une viennoiserie, mais la viennoiserie était fraiche). Pas de clim dans la chambre mais il n'y faisait pas trop chaud. Possibilité de garer sa voiture sur le parking privé.

Great location to visit etna and Taormina. The owner is very friendly and helpful, he gave us loads of recommendations to organize our visits. He even gave us a coupon with a 20% discount on etna climbing! very much aprecialbe considering the prices of excursions on etna :) Would definitely recommend it, and price is pretty good for this area.

Super Zimmer, gerne wieder

Sehr nette Vermieter und angenehmes Familienklima. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl, wenn man dort ankommt. Netter Garten der von einem Zaun umgeben ist, damit keiner das Grundstück ungewollt betreten kann. Zimmer sind gemütlich eingerichtet und sauber. Das Bad ist sauber, so wie man sich das als "Deutscher-Turi" vorstellt. Es gibt keinen Fernseher auf dem Zimmer, was nicht nachteilig ist. Man ist in einer sehr schönen Umgebung und sollte den Abend lieber nutzen eine Runde spaziern zu gehen. Das ist jedoch nur mein empfinden. Ruhige Lage mir schönem Ausblick.

Peace in the countryside

Lovely welcoming hosts, very keen to make us comfortable. Loved the canopy of kiwis and vines shading us at breakfast time. Very convenient for the places we needed to visit. If you want the genuine article this is the place for you.

Seeking a Rustic Experience on Sicialian Hillside?

The proprietor of this large home (on a side street within the Sciliian town of Trecastagne near Mount Etna) was warmly attentive and informative -- a perfect host. His lack of English and our lack of Italian was not a barrier. We visited off season, early February 2012, and because of the cold and rain the rooms stayed chilly, although we were cozy enough when close to the small electric heater provided. The downstairs space we occupied included two twin beds for children in one room as well as the double bed for us in another. A small family could be accommodated here. The kitchen for guests was separate and well-equipped. The backyard featured some orange and lemon trees, overlooked an olive grove, included playthings for younger children, and an older Mazerati up on blocks. We enjoyed the oranges the host had grown in his yard. It is not the easiest place to find. However on the autostrada from Catania to Messina there is, just after the toll booth, an exit marked Trecastagne, and further signs do get you to the town. Once there, some small signs are posted to the front gate. The nightly fee was half of what we are accustomed to paying in hotels. Mount Etna is often shrouded in fog and clouds. Hope for sunshine! We enjoyed our stay.
