"Beautiful spot, but difficult to access without a rental car. We were travelling on foot/train/bus and we had to rely solely on the 2 or 3 taxis in the township. The walk was ok downhill, but very arduous going back (We're in our 70's). We chose Varenna as it much more affordable than Ballagio, and the views are simply breathtaking. With a car, this would have been perfect, but we also found that the locals were very accommodating and actually took us home in their own vehicles a few...

"Myself and friends had a great time staying here! The only issue we had with the accommodation was trying to find it in the first place as we were walking and not with a car however, we called the owner and they helped to direct us ASAP! 😊 The property does also come with a pool adjacent which is not advertised. "
