"This is a lovely modern hotel. The decor is beautiful with really unusual lightning, chandeliers, wall colourings and pictures. It is fresh, but comfortable. All staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and shiny. The rooms are well laid out, with sufficient furniture for a comfortable stay. Breakfast is superb. Laid out ready to help yourself to whatever you fancy, with a wide choice of food. Again the waiting staff were charming. Only slight disappointment was the poor and relatively expensive evening menu. Not sufficiently so to lose a star as there are so many places to eat in the city, but we would have preferred to eat in the hotel, as the weather was very cold. The hotel is situated just about 5 minutes walk from where most of the attractions are situated, so perfect for exploring on foot. No need for a car. Although it is fairly close to the station, i would recommend using a taxi when you arrive. Very reasonably priced and very pleasant, helpful drivers. In spite of the cold we thoroughly enjoyed our break in York, and fully recommend this hotel. "

We loved the size of the room, the cleanliness of the hotel and the room service we ordered. All the staff we met were lovely and so helpful. The spa was absolutely amazing. So relaxing! "Clean room, lovely bathroom room with toiletries. Room has all you need like mirrors and plugs and nice bedding and towels. Location is amazing and at night they lock the doors so very safe. Free coffee and there’s a good bar downstairs. Helpful staff who held our bags before our train home for us so we could enjoy the city. Always stay here when we visit "
