Book a Touro Cottage

Yeah I know pilgims are meant to stay in 10 euro Alberges but after a long day walking and the risk of rain it was good to have a night pre booked at Casa Brandariz where we warmed up by an open fire, were served delicious home cooked food and local wine, and slept soundly in a comfy bed with en suite facilities. This is a great hotel with luxury facilities. Although it is a bit out of town it has a shuttle bus which leaves on the hour and takes 5 minutes to get to or from the town centre.

Excellent reception and service. Helpful in organizing a day trip out. Dinner was wonderful, 4 courses with a lovely white wine. Location was isolated but worth the effort.

Good location right on the Camino Francés, and convenient for a night of luxury after weeks in a bunk bed in shared dorms! Only downside was I was there festival time and it was all going on in the street outside, but the hotel was well insulated sound wise and wasn’t much of an inconvenience.

Our GPS had difficulty finding the hotel as we had no street number. The hotel is somewhat out of town, but within walking distance of a number of cafés and restaurants on the main road. It is about half an hour walk, along the Camino de Santiago de Compostela trail, to the historical centre with the cathedral. Well worth the stroll into town. The rooms were nice .beds comfortable Bathroom big enough and shower faucet in working order. Water hot. Luggage holding for us. Helpful with map and information. Reception staff friendly and courteous.

The hotel is perfectly located in the main square with a full view from our room. The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is also in close proximity to great restaurants.
