About a holiday in the Broadhempston area... The idyllic village is located around 4 miles from the market town of Totnes. Totnes holds a vibrant weekly market, with stalls selling local produce, street food and handmade wares. It is also home to the impressive Totnes Castle. Getting out on the water is a great way to see the countryside and spot our local wildlife. Hire a kayak or take a trip on the Dartmouth river boat. Steam train journeys are available from the Southdevon Railway, which runs between Totnes and Buckfastleigh. For a seaside fix, the coastal towns of Paignton and Brixham are around a 30 minute drive away. If you are looking for some retail therapy the city of Exeter, home to Exeter Cathedral is around 40 minutes. For keen walkers and explorers, Dartmoor is a short drive away offering plenty of paths, tracks and bridleways.
