"Hard to separate the charm of Montalcino from that of our hotel and staff but this hotel and staff would have stood out in any location. Our suite was elegant and spacious situated in the heart of Montalcino's many shops and cafés. The staff made us feel like family they were hosting, always gracious, never mercenary. It felt a bit like staying at a friends beautiful home with the butler and staff remaining to attend to our needs. The food was delicious, artfully and graciously presented. Our stay included a free small group private tasting and tour of the Tassi winery, founded by the hotel owner's grandfather (who was himself a sharecropper for the Brunello-founding Biondi Santi family). If we could only ever revisit one place in our Italian tour, I think we'd choose this one. Five stars all around."

"Great area, easy car access to many tiscan locations: Pienza, Montalcino, Moltepulciano and many others. Breakfast was great, many options. Property has a pool area that was unbelievably pretty. There is also a restaurant onsite that had an amazing dinner selections. The town is nearby and walkable. Would highly recommend this location for anyone exploring Tuscany and wants to get away from super touristy little towns."

"Beautiful property with the most amazing views you can find in the whole Tuscany. The pool and the pool area are incredible! All well maintained, lovely landscaping and all pristine! The only downside is that it’s mandatory to use a swimming cap in the pool (you can purchase it at the front desk). We had the spa package but I ended up not using it since we mostly use the outdoor pool before or after visiting towns around. It was still very hot at the beginning of September, so the pool was a super plus! The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious, very clean and well maintained. The decoration of the main lobby and the breakfast area could use a renovation since it looks very dated but I have to admit all it’s all in great shape. The restaurant right next to the property is delicious, friendly staff and stunning views. The location is convenient to easily walk and stroll around Val d’ Orcia. I would highly recommend Casanova hotel if you’re planning to explore most famous towns in the Tuscany. Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano and Siena are between 15 to 30 min from Val d’ Orcia."

"Great place to stay as a couple and good also if you have kids. Loved the centre pool with spa jets and lying out on the bean bag pillows on the grass. Staff and service was excellent. Air Conditioning was a little lacking and the pillows were a little flat for our liking and only one included for each sleeper. Otherwise very nice stay."

"Comfort in the double bed was noticeable, better than other places I've stayed. The kitchen came equipped with a microwave and dishwasher which helped keep meal prep fast and tidy. The location is peaceful but only 3 km from town."

"Very interesting place and location. Everything was as advertised. Check in was a bit challenging, largely due to our not speaking Italian and arriving into the evening. The hosts did a good job being patient with us. Our technology didn't help much. Our US app for maps was sending us close to the property but not directly to it., causing confusion The maps the host sent to us sent us back into town to an apartment building. In my opinion this was an app issue not a host issue. The views were spectacular. The grounds were gorgeous. It is very remote, yet near a small village. You definitely get a true old school Tuscan feel with this stay. Just a short drive to larger communities. We loved it!"
