"One of the best places we stayed for one night , the host (owner and chef) was very friendly and the food he cooked was amazing - one of the best meals we had in the 3 weeks we stayed in Italy. Getting there by car was convenient but no easy to find. Once you are there the place is amazing and the food just great!"

"We had a memorable stay at Sant'Anna Agriturismo. This is a truly unique property. We got to all access to the monastery including the Church, the lemon garden, the large dining halls. "Our stay at Podere Cunina was everything we could have wanted in Tuscany. The sunsets were beautiful, the location had a beautiful pool, the gardens were gorgeous but the greatest part was Silvana and Giorgio and the love they have put into restoring this wonderful property from its days as a historic farm. They knew every bit about the area and were full of recommendations for things to do. One of the greatest things we did on our trip was the cooking lesson with Marcello. We learned to make Pasta, Meat Sauce, a Pork secondo dish and Tiramisu. Then the family ate it with us with some wonderful wine. They do not have a meal service on the property but the town of Buonoconvento was a 4 min drive to cafes and restaurants and a nice coop grocery store. Highly recommend "
"This was a fantastic place to stay while visiting Montalcino. Spectacular views from our room and from the breakfast area and pool deck. Staff was very hospitable, and the breakfast buffet was really good. Mimosa’s restaurant recommendations were on point😎.
I picked this place somewhat randomly for me and my dad and did not regret it. Walking distance to great restaurants and gelato. Rooms are not elaborate, but you’re not there to stay in your room.
A couple of suggestions:
- if you put this place into Apple Maps or Google Maps, IT WILL SEND YOU UP A GRAVEL AGRICULTURAL ROAD WITH 20% GRADE, the Strada Communale Del Canaliccio. OMG, my heart was in my throat driving up this and we narrowly avoided an accident. Instead, ask Maps app to take you to Via Pietro Strozzi, then to the hotel. We made it safely, but there was some stress!!
- there is very little permanent parking at the hotel. Drive there, drop your stuff, and they will give you a parking pass and directions to parking.
- this may not be the place for those with severely limited mobility. The cobblestone roads are pretty steep.
- if you need suggestions for wineries, there are so many, but Col D’Orcia won’t let you down. Book ahead.🍷"
"Great Villa in the grape vines in the shadow of Montalcino. Amazing views. The kitchen could be better in terms of cooking utensils and grill tools would be a plus. The BBQ was useful though there wasn’t a lot of charcoal (we used some logs under the stairs). A little confusion with the check in times provided by various parties but all worked out well. While the air made it too cold to swim it looked lovely. "
