The views are absolutely breathtaking! It's our home away from home. We love this cabin. We've been coming for our annual girls trip for the past 5 years. We all agree, we'll never book another location/cabin!
House was much bigger than the pictures showed on the listing. Lots of steps inside and out but overall a great place for a big group. The downstairs master bedroom was absolutely beautiful with a great view of the lake and a balcony. Recommend for anyone who doesn’t have mobility issues. Loved it !
We had the most amazing stay at this cabin in Topton, NC. The place is spotless, cozy, had high speed internet and perfectly tucked away in the mountains — the ideal spot to relax and unwind. The views are absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. The cabin had everything I needed, from a fully equipped kitchen to super comfortable beds and a peaceful porch to enjoy my morning coffee.Whether you’re looking to hike, fish, or just enjoy some quiet time in nature, this is the perfect spot. I can’t recommend it enough and can’t wait to come back!
Our family had a fantastic stay at this beautiful lakeside cabin in a gated community! The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable vacation. The kitchen was well-equipped, the beds were comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring and enjoying the very beautiful and quiet lake. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the booking process and our stay. We especially appreciated being able to include usage of the grill and more so the pontoon boat. We highly recommend this property and will definitely book it again!
Our week at this beautiful home on Nantahala Lake was everything we hoped for and more! The house was very clean and welcoming. Balconies looking out over the lake, tall trees & mountains. We loved waking up to the cool mountain air and ending our days in the hot tub watching the sun set over the water. Plenty of private space, it was so fun exploring all of the floors and property. There was plenty of room for everyone, with two master bedrooms, 3 other bedrooms, a cozy loft, and a huge game room downstairs. A movie theater room that quickly became our favorite hangout spot. The private dock was perfect for fishing, swimming, or just sitting quietly and taking in the view.Coming from Florida, seeing the fall colors in October was absolutely breathtaking. It was one of those trips that left us feeling refreshed, grateful, and already planning our next visit back.We can’t recommend this place enough!
We loved this place. This large mountain house that overlooks a gorgeous lake is wonderful. The lake is low this time of year but it still didn’t deter the beauty of the lake surrounded by mountains. We loved everything about this house. The game room was great to hang out and play games on the pool table and foosball. We used the pontoon boat to ride around and just enjoy the surroundings. Highly recommend. It does cost extra but I feel it’s worth it. Just be prepared for a lot of steps in the house and outside but it is on a side of a mountain and the house is massive so we felt we got our exercise in. lol. The owner Greg and caretaker were very nice and always answered our questions in a timely matter. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

Lake Nantahala Family Trip
The house was very nice, but it was obvious it had not been stayed in recently. The kitchen was well equipped. The hot tub worked well. There was plenty of room for 8 adults and 3 young children and we all had a great stay. The area is beautiful and remote. Parking was creative with a van, suv, and 2 mid-size cars. A sign in the kitchen said that we had to supply our own internet. We left a message for a property owner. Donna promptly returned our call. She was extremely nice and helpful. We had found the password for the free wifi by then. We let Donna know that lightbulbs needed replaced, fireplaces were not working, and slats on the stairs to the dock needed replaced. She had the repairman come out promptly and most of it was fixed. We contacted the repairman directly during the week (per instructions) concerning a garbage disposal clog, but he never returned the call. We let Donna know about contacting the repairman, the propane living room fireplace never turning on, the garbage disposal, and a broken refrigerator bin when we left as someone else was arriving after us and figured she would want to have some of that fixed. We also let her know that the trash disposal place was closed on the day we left (Friday) as trash is not supposed to be left in the house. We cleaned the house and took our trash with us. It has been over a week since we left and I am still waiting for our pet and house deposit to be refunded.

7 out of 10
Starting at the bottom floor -
1st floor - game room & half bath
2nd floor - master bedroom, theater, laundry room & half bath
3rd floor - Living, dining, kitchen, full bath & 3 bedrooms (This level has the front door).
4th floor - 2nd master bedroom & small landing
Pros:
-Comes with a pontoon boat that you can rent (small motor).
-Great communication w/ owner.
-Pool table & hot tub.
-Ample parking compared to the neighbors.
-Plenty of kitchen gadgets & cookware.
-Grill stocked w/ propane.
-Water at dock is deep and easy to swim in.
-Beautiful setting.
Cons:
-140+ stairs 1-way to the dock.
-Stairs to the water are fairly old and very slippery (We had 1 person and a dog fall on them).
-One section of the descent to the lake doesn't even have stairs, just a mud/root area.
-1 lane gravel road getting to the house.
-Rentable pontoon boat doesn't leave the dock if you don't rent it. (We rented a jet skis and a pontoon with larger motor from the marina and it was a pain to dock all of it with the other pontoon there).
-Lots of check out rules.
-Small kitchen considering size of house
-Dealing w/ the trash is AWFUL. (Instructions said trash drop off was open on certain days but those days were wrong, & pretty difficult to find - you'll be surprised how much trash you make in a week....).
-Simple things like toilet paper & dish soap are NOT provided.
-Wifi password was on a scrap of paper shoved in a box with random stuff.
-Internet is pretty bad.
-Only 1 TV would work.
Our visit was quite and peacefull celebrating our Anniversary going to Highlands to visit waterfalls and antiquing , then bryson city to hit the shops that were lit up for christmas , the cabin was clean and cozy cant wait to come back with all the family, thank you for the memories
What a beautiful cozy place to stay on Lake Nantahala!! Absolutely stunning views!! We had the best time!! This cabin has everything you need!! Spacious and clean!!! We will definitely be going back!!!
The house was very nice and comfortable. Pay attention to the cons from other reviews and to the honest description of the property and access. There are some real challenges there. We enjoyed our stay and the overall experience was great
We had an amazing time with family. The house had everything we needed for a baby and toddlers. Plenty of room for a large family. We also rented the pontoon boat and ventured out on the most beautiful lake! The cool water was enjoyed by the kids and well as most of us adults! Would recommend to any family for a good timed in the mountains!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. This is our third year vacationing on Nantahala Lake and have tried to stay in different places—this is one of our favorites! From playing in the jacuzzi to tubing on the lake, playing pool to foosball, and relaxing on the multi-level balconies and theater room—it was all so much fun. We dubbed this place the Stairway to Heaven because we counted approximately 222 stairs from the top room to the boat dock—great workout and great fun!
The lake setting is so beautiful it almost seems unreal. The house has such a great view, the dock is perfect for swimming and the boat was fun! Would definitely come again!
Weather would not cooperate so we were so glad there were a ton of things to do inside the house!! Rented the boat for an extra day and the lake could not be more beautiful!! Great neighborhood and a great place for the whole family. Highly recommend
Owners were very easy to talk to. Property was amazing and the views of the lake were incredible. There are a lot of stairs so if older folks want to rent just be aware.

Nice house, few issues
Overall the house is nice, we could not use the hot tub as it was dirty and when we turned it on, it was filled with a lot of foam and chlorine smell was unbearable. The key box is difficult to open. Taking out trash required us to drive 30 minutes one way!!! Otherwise they threatened to charge us for each trash bag. There are over 100 steep stairs to the lake, keep it in mind.
We had a great time kayaking (over 8 miles) and riding on the pontoon! My 3 boys, husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at your place. Thank you for sharing it with us!!

Great home with plenty of room. Great view overlooking the lake.
This was our first annual immediate family reunion. The house was beautiful with wood decor and a great view of the lake. It was roomy and slept 12 comfortably and is pet friendly! The only comment I would have is that the access to the dock needs work - you had to walk across a loose 2x6 to get from the steps the the dock.

We had a wonderful vacation at the Lakeside Lodge, and I can't say enough good things about the house. It is beautiful! It is very clean and well maintained. There are a lot of activities and restaurants nearby. We especially enjoyed renting a pontoon boat one day to take the children tubing. One day was spent river rafting, which was enjoyed by all of us. GREAT BEDS!!!
