"Beautiful hotel and well maintained for how busy it was. The room was incredible with unobstructed views of mt Fuji. I bit far from town but a free shuttle bus provided transportation to nearby shopping and restaurants. The FujiQ was right next store so if you go to the park it’s very convenient."

"Excellent meals. Our poor luck was a heavy snowfall that precluded a lot of activities. enjoyed the Onsen, though!"

"Easy to get to, helpful transfer bus to and from Kawaguchi station and lovely rooms. The view of Mt Fuji from the bathtub is awesome! Breakfast is plentiful with enough for western travelers to enjoy. Free glass of wine and coffee in the lobby with a free snack was also great. We loved our 2 night stay here."

"This is an amazing little hidden gem! We will absolutely be back on our next trip to Fujikawaguchiko. Yes, the hotel is showing its age a little, and I mean only a little, but you’re there for a classic ryokan so it’s part of the experience. The staff are amazing and the hotel has fantastic amenities. They provide a shuttle to and from Kawaguchiko Station, public and private onsen baths, and an amazing view of Fuji-san from the rooftop deck. On top of that, the kaseki dinner and breakfast are spectacular. The food is excellent, plus we were served in our own private room within the restaurant, with a lovely view of the lake. We can’t say enough good things about this hotel! I’ve honestly never left a hotel review before and probably never will again, but this place is worth it. Hoping this draws attention to this hidden gem, to keep it running until we’re able to come back. Too many places like this are bought up by big hotel chains and lose their charm. Arigato gozaimasu, Lakeland Hotel Mizunosato!!!"

"Don’t stay here! They should be taken off Hotels.com! So dirty and gross, and over priced. Bugs everywhere… beds uncomfortable, pillow flat. I say pillow cuz that is all there was. Lamp shades literally stained dirty. Couch dirty. The worst hotel! Run the other direction! Do not rent a room here! "

"I booked mountain view and the room did not disappoint! It was beautiful. However, I am giving 4 stars reviews as the staff weren't enthusiastic to help and the coffee machine is only available from 3pm. It would be helpful to get coffee in the morning. "
