"I loved the independence of the flat. The kitchen was fab but could have done with a microwave or even an oven dish. I did not like seeing all the bins at the front full to the brim. "Cheddar and the surrounding area is such a lovely part of the country and the Gatehouse matched that. The bed was large and very comfortable, the lounge perfect for snuggling away the evenings and the shower particuarly good! Parking also could not have been easier. Do note though, a lot of the roads in the area are narrow and twisty without footpaths so a small car is preferable and beware when walking them."

"The hotel was full and unfortunately we were given the worst room in the building. 121. It’s above a night club, there’s no soundproofing and it is tiny. We got no sleep at all. An awful experience. Hotel staff were kind, we were refunded however this should not have happened. What was meant to be a special night away was simply awful. I have no doubt the rest of the hotel is a delight breakfast was lovely and the bar area good but if you want a good night sleep, due to the location this is not the place. "
