10/10 Excellent
"My fiancé and I had such an amazing stay here!! We booked this hotel last minute on our road trip, and it happened to be our favourite hotel of our trip! It’s such a cozy chalet and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. We asked to have dinner at their restaurant, and we didn’t realize it would be a 4-course meal with appetizers and wine at long candlelit shared tables with the other hotel guests—it was incredible!! WeI would love to come back here in the winter as the ski hills are super close by. Would recommend a stay here!!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Tilly?
The best area to stay in Tilly, Valle d'Aosta, is the village centre itself, particularly around the main square and the road leading up to the castle.

This area is the heart of Tilly, offering convenient access to local amenities and a traditional alpine village experience. You'll find a selection of local eateries and small shops along the main thoroughfare. The mediaeval castle, a significant landmark, sits prominently overlooking the village, providing a focal point for the area.

For couples seeking a relaxing and scenic getaway, staying in the village centre is ideal. You're within easy walking distance of quality restaurants and charming spots for an aperitivo. The proximity to the castle allows for pleasant strolls with impressive views, and the surrounding trails offer gentle hikes for enjoying the mountain air.

Families will also find the village centre a good base. It's easy to navigate, and children will enjoy the novelty of the castle.
When is the best time to go to Tilly?
The best time to visit Tilly is during the summer months, from June to September, when the weather is warm and ideal for outdoor activities.

During this period, the Valle d'Aosta region truly comes alive. The days are long, and the temperatures are comfortable, making it superb for exploring the walking trails and enjoying the stunning mountain scenery. You'll find all the local facilities, shops, and restaurants operating at their fullest, offering the best of local produce and dining experiences.

Couples looking for an active holiday will find these months superb for hiking, cycling, and discovering the numerous alpine lakes and viewpoints. The clear skies offer incredible opportunities for photography, especially of the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc. Many local festivals and outdoor events also take place at this time, adding to the holiday experience.

For those seeking a more relaxed escape, late spring (May) and early autumn (October) also offer a pleasant experience. The crowds are thinner, and the landscape is beautiful with spring blooms or autumn colours, though some higher-altitude activities might be limited due to weather conditions.
