Top Tidworth Hotel Reviews

Winchester Royal Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed one night at a historic and cultural hotel which stood in a convenient location. We loved the spacious garden in the evening enjoying dinner there. Although the hotel has centuries of history, every corner of the hotel was well maintained by keeping the tradition and atmosphere at its original style. The room was a bit old (which the floor was a bit leaning), the two nights stay was comfortable and relaxing. For those visitors who cherish the value of history and traditions, this hotel would absolutely fit your taste. For those who is look for functional and modern facilities, this may not be the one. However, this hotel would be an eye opener to diversify your values of appreciating what our ancestors left for us."

Best Western Red Lion Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The beds were very comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff. Room was clean and very quiet. "

Mercure White Hart Hotel Salisbury and Apartments
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely refurbished double room in a quiet corner of the hotel.
Convenient parking place £7.50 a day "

Gray Manor Hotel
8/10 Good
"We stayed at Gray Manor Hotel as a base for visiting Stonehenge and Salisbury, and it was in a great location for both. The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings, and the staff were lovely — very chatty, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, although a little dated and in need of some TLC in places. That said, the continental breakfast was one of the best I’ve had, with a great selection and everything fresh and well presented.
One of the standout features was how pet friendly the hotel is, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, a pleasant and relaxing stay in an ideal location for exploring the area."

The Winchester Hotel & Spa
8/10 Good
"The room was really nicely done and I appreciated the little extra touches like biscuits, hot chocolate sachets, and nice bramley toiletries. It was a bit dated in places (eg bathroom door chipped at the bottom, a couple of moths, and noise from other rooms using their water and walking upstairs). The staff were very friendly and attentive, making for a nice check in and check out experience. The pool, steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi were so lovely. It was a peaceful area that felt modern and clean. It was a little small so felt busy at times (eg waiting to use the jacuzzi) but was really great to have at this hotel. The rain shower in the bathroom was also really lovely. Breakfast was great with a really nice selection all round and full size pastries and pancake machine a real bonus! "

The Riverside
8/10 Good
"Clean room picked riverside four poster . Not really a great riverside view due to flat roof . Water in the evening for the shower was like warm
We did mention it and the morning it was sorted . Parking was good and easy . Lovely walk into the city . I thought breakfast was included and considering we already paid £215 midweek I think it was quite expensive without breakfast "

The George Hotel, Amesbury, Wiltshire
8/10 Good
"Although my room was small it had everything you could need for a stay.
The choices for breakfast were poor. I have a sulphite intolerance so I couldn’t have anything with grape based products in. Many of the cereals were therefore out for me and the rest were more for children. No fresh fruit apart from a fruit salad which also has grapes in it.
All the staff were great and very helpful.
Drinks in the bar a bit overpriced but plenty of choice.
Generally we enjoyed our stay."

Legacy Rose and Crown Hotel
8/10 Good
"Great hotel full of character. Next to the river and a short walk into the main town. Parking available at the back of the hotel. Staff were great, always friendly. Rooms differ from modern to very old. Rates are reasonable and the breakfast delightful. Have stayed here many times always good."

Days Inn by Wyndham Winchester M3
2/10 Terrible
"Unacceptable hygiene – mold, dirt, and poor maintenance
We stayed here for a weekend with our children and were very disappointed with the cleanliness and condition of the room. The bathroom had a strong moldy smell, and there was visible mold on the ceiling, which is completely unacceptable—especially with kids.
The overall hygiene was poor. The carpet was very dirty with visible debris along the edges, and the bathroom areas showed clear signs of neglect and buildup. It did not feel clean or properly maintained.
This is not just about appearance—mold and poor sanitation raise real health concerns. We expected a basic standard of cleanliness from a hotel, and this fell far below that.
I would not recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made."
