"Great staff and nice hotel. Close to train station and walking distance to many attractions. Parking was a little difficult to find (within the train station underground structure) but was convenient. Would happily stay again"

"Motel One Basel is a perfect location for anyone attending Christmas Markets as the lobby opened onto the Plaza where one of the Markets was staged. Transportation on the tram line was just across the plaza so having no car was not a problem. I arrived prior to check-in but the front desk is staffed around the clock and they stored my luggage until my room was ready. I would stay here again. "

"After having struggled with choosing the right hotel in Basel, we were very glad to have settled on Hotel Spalentor. From the historic and convenient location, to the genial and courteous staff, our first stay in Basel was eminently pleasant. The rooms were clean and the breakfast scrumptious. We also loved our tree-framed view of the Spalentor gate, the clean room, stylish decor, and the thoughtful touches including a postcard signed by the staff, and a complimentary Spalentor rubber duck who will accompany us on future adventures. Sadly we only had one night in Basel this time, but hope to return to Hotel Spalentor soon!"

"The hotel is super well situated if you are using the train, a few minutes from the station. Also, the Basel card for the public transport was very much appreciated and used. Tram stops right in front of the hotel. We arrived around 10am from a transatlantic flight and was given our room right away, which was so nice. Staff is very nice and helpful not only at the reception, but in the restaurant for breakfast as well. Room was nice and clean. Would stay here again if in Basel."
