"The ranch is a little hard to find on Google Maps as we were driving over in the dark after viewing wildflowers in Anza Borrego- it's actually opposite the Warner Springs Ranch gas station. We were saved by an alert and super helpful security guard who spotted us! The cottage is small and cozy, with two heaters in case it gets cold. Basic amenities were provided. It was a good place for us to get a rest and sleep before heading back up to the Bay Area the next day."

"Great little place, cute, fun location, clean and excellent value; this was our second visit - would come again ONLY IF high iron/Sulphur levels in water are resolved. Not pleasant using water that tastes like you have blood in your mouth and smells like rust ALL the time & Sulphur odor at times. This water problem has been an issue for some time with the cabins since there is a little sign about it and you can also see the rust stains on shower tile, ect. I appreciated the quick help /responses...

"My boyfriend and I stayed here for our Anniversary weekend and this little cabin was perfect! Amazing views, picnic tables and hammock chairs out front, wood burning stove, full kitchen. We had to salvage our own kindling wood outside because there were only large logs inside. Would recommend this to my friends and would definitely stay here again!"

"The kids had a great time climbing the boulders all over the property and exploring. We explored more nature and saw more animals on property here than we did hiking at Cuyamaca. My wife loved it and said she'll never stay anywhere else in Julian. We went across the street for strawberry picking, hayrides and the best pie in California according to Yelp (and the best breakfast sandwich, it's not on the menu, it is turkey, egg & cheese on a buttermilk biscuit) and the best pecan glazed cinnamon roll according to our taste buds. We had more fun here than in Julian, Apple Tree Inn is where to stay."
