"It was roughly 15 years ago we stayed at High Peaks Resort with the kids when they were about 5 years old and we brought them back this year for a new perspective. The first time around we stayed at a room in the Main Resort, this time around we stayed at a room in the Waterfront Collection. Excellent room with obvious wonderful views. We stayed just off the pool area Waterfront Collection rooms so that we had an open view of Mirror Lake morning, noon, and night. Open your door and you are 10 yards from the water. From 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. there will be guests right outside your room relaxing in chairs and using the various water craft (paddleboards, kayaks, pedal boats, etc.). It reminded us somewhat of a beach so we did not mind the relative lack of privacy just outside the room. We stayed early week in July for three nights. The room itself was very clean with the large bathroom being the highlight, wonderful spacious shower with overhead shower head. Several channels on the TV but no movie channels and satellite picture not that great in the mountainous area. Fabulous location. High Peaks rests on the edge of Main Street with "walkabiltiy" perhaps he best overlooked feature: walk to Main Street for shopping and restaurants or go in the opposite direction for a nice evening walk along Mirror Lake drive. There is even a short mountain trail (Cobble Hill Trail, 0.8 mi) just off of Mirror Lake Drive that my daughter and I hiked one early morning. Beautiful view at the top. "

"This is a wonderful hotel. As a boutique hotel the number of rooms are limited, but that just makes for more personalized and better service. The hotel is located at the tip of Mirror Lake, just a 5 minute walk from the heart of Lake Placid. The Olympic speed skating oval is only a block away, the Olympic museum and ice rinks are two blocks. Rooms at the front of the hotel overlook a public park and beach, with clear views of the lake. The hotel is located within a 15 minute drive of all the Lake Placid and Olympic attractions. Parking is easy and plentiful. The rooms are large and clean. The decor is minimal but lovely. The bathrooms are very modern and the shower is to die for. Rainfall showerhead, walk in and very large. I reserved a room with a loft which was larger than I needed, but provided an enjoyable separation from the sleeping area. The complimentary breakfast was very good with numerous food alternatives available. The hotel has 24/7 complimentary coffee and tea for visitors. Why most hotels don't do this, I can't fathom. I don't even drink coffee or tea and I still think that is both a great and underrated amenity. The biggest drawback of which I can speak is that the elevator is very slow. It's a small price to pay for such a great property. Lake Placid is a fantastic destination. If I ever go back to the area, there is no question that the Lake Placid Inn Boutique Hotel is where I'll be staying. I give it my highest recommendation."

"Absolutely loved my time here. First off, it’s a college dorm room. It’s cheap, it’s clean and better than being out in woods. Bed is comfortable. There’s a fridge and microwave. There’s a complimentary breakfast which was better than a lot of hotels I’ve stayed in. There’s four rooms to a suite so I guess there’s a chance others could be there but I had the place to myself for two nights. All staff members I interacted with were warm and friendly. I’d definitely stay here again and if you’re traveling on the cheap I’d definitely recommend it. "
