"We were upgraded to a room with a stunning sea view. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. Only downside was a leaky pipe in our shower was believed to have flooded the room below, but that’s to be expected with such an old and very beautiful building. Would absolutely recommend. "

"We’ve stayed at the Old Ship several times, as it tends to be the best value for money. We love the central sea front location (and are prepared to put up with a bit of city noise… the complimentary ear plugs are a nice touch), sea views are well worth paying a bit extra for, and we even enjoy the 100 year old lift …. on the occasional time it arrives before we opt for the stairs instead (it is described optimistically as ‘a bit slow’). Very pleasant staff too. Looking forward to our next stay. "
